《紀念一位天使》是二十世紀奧地利作曲家伯格為了悼念 少女曼儂而寫的協奏曲，曼儂是作曲家馬勒的妻子改嫁 後所生的女兒，可惜18歲便不幸去世。伯格雖以十二音 列譜寫此作，但樂曲卻極為抒情，情感豐富，超越了前 人的風格和時代。自2011/2012樂季起，才華洋溢的澳洲 小提琴家格德霍特加入香港小交響樂團擔任樂團首席， 憑著他對當代音樂的出色詮釋，他將與樂團演奏這首伯 格的代表作，歌頌生命的美麗。音樂會還包括魏本改編 巴赫的作品賦格練習曲及布拉姆斯第二交響曲，選曲精 彩，不容錯過！ All music is connected to the past. Even for those composers like the serialists Webern and Berg – who, under their teacher Arnold Schoenberg, wanted to break free from musical conventions 100 years ago – they couldn’t get away from the purity of Bach. In both Webern’s exquisite and subtle orchestration of the Ricercare from Bach’s Musical Offering and Berg’s heartrending Violin Concerto, which quotes a Bach cantata, 200 years of musical history seems not to matter. And the Berg is even more poignant as it was its composer’s heartfelt response to the news of the death of an 18-year-old girl, the violin taking the part of the angelic Manon Gropius, here taken by Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s very own concertmaster, James Cuddeford. After the interval Daniel Raiskin turns back the clock just a few decades, to an idyllic summer of 1877, which inspired in Brahms his richly coloured Second Symphony, continuing the orchestra’s survey of all Brahms symphonies this season.
