Leadership VALERIE MITCHENER Owner/Broker
After years of being one of the most consistent top producers in the region, Valerie turned her dream of owning her own real estate company into a reality and founded HM Properties in 2006. She attributes much of the success to having a unique business model that allowed her to build a niche within a very competitive real estate market. With a focus of creating a high end brand, Valerie has carefully hand-picked top brokers in the region who possess extraordinary customer service skills, experience and knowledge of our market, and a strong work ethic. She continues to remain forward facing and diligent in creating the best customer first firm in the region.
MAREN BRISSON-KUESTER Chief Operating Officer/Broker For the past 16 years, Maren has been a consistent top producer. Real estate has always been her primary passion as evidenced in her leadership roles within the local, state, and national organizations. She served as a two term president for the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association in 2015 and 2016. She has also been elected to serve as the president of the NC Realtors in 2020. She is deeply involved in Charlotte’s philanthropy community as well. She has served as chair and championed many non-profit organizations in the Queen City. She believes that a great Realtor doesn’t just provide excellent service to their clients. Rather they continue those efforts by dedicating their talents in other ways to be able to encourage economic, and personal growth in our community.
JUDY RAGHAVAN Broker/Realtor®, GRI “I am committed to providing the highest level of customer service to all of my clients.” Judy grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and graduated from Broward Community College with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and spent years working in the industry as a merchandiser and in sales. She met her husband, Derek, a physician at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, when he was asked to set up the Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale. When that was completed, they moved back to Cleveland. Four years later, Derek accepted a position in the Charlotte healthcare system and they moved to the Queen City. Once they got settled, Judy said she finally found the perfect place to call home. This move also gave her a chance to earn her real estate license so she could transition into working in a field that she truly loved. Real estate definitely agreed with her and Judy earned Rookie of the Year her first year and spent seven years working at Cottingham Chalk before joining HM Properties in 2020.

She says being a Broker/Realtor® is such a great career because it gives her the opportunity to meet interesting people, show off a city she enjoys living in, and is able to help her clients find their perfect home. She also enjoys working with relocating buyers because she has moved a lot and has a good feel for what they are going through and understands their needs. She says that being a Realtor® is truly her dream job and she even has spare time for her grandchildren. Judy and her husband live in the Cotswold area with their Miniature Schnauzer, Patch.
