Hockey Night In Boston welcomes you to our 44th annual Summer Showcase being held again this year at the Valley Forum, a beautiful two-rink facility in Haverhill, MA (25 miles north of Boston).

Action in the 20-team Summer Showcase begins on Wednesday, July 25th with a unique format sure to please the scouts in attendance. Each of the 20 teams will play five games against five different opponents over a three-day period. College, Junior, Prep and NHL Scouts will be able to see prospects play two times each day on Thursday and Friday.

Five select teams of Massachusetts /RI top players – Greater Boston, South Shore/RI, Southern NE, North Shore, Middlesex - were chosen in April/May. Players were invited by the HNIB staff based upon their previous winter’s scholastic hockey season and HNIB participation.

HNIB unveiled its first Southeast Festival in early June that produced several players for both the South Shore and Southern New England entries.

The 35th annual New York- Connecticut-Mid-Atlantic camp featuring over 90 players took place from June 15- 17. The players competed for spots on two teams in the HNIB Showcase: Mid Atlantic and Connecticut/NY.

Gilmour Academy (OH) hockey director John Malloy helped put together a club from the Midwest region The Midwest team will feature many players from the State of Ohio.

Over 120 skaters signed up for the 34th annual Northern New England camp in Haverhill from June 8th -10th. The result was two select teams, Northern New England and Northeast, that represent players from Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire.

Late in June, 30-35 players were drafted from the HNIB High School Division tryouts for participation in the major showcase (from a turnout of 100 partcipants), including the Suburban entry.

Eighteen teams of sophomores (over 325 players) competed in the gigantic and unique HNIB Sophomore All-Star Tournament from July 8-12. Also, over 350 junior high players participated

in their own festival as a stepping stone to their initial exposure at HNIB. The final Sophomore All Stars was chosen after the tournament’s All-Star Games on July 13th.

Returning at HNIB this summer is Mass West, put together by Kevin Kervick of the Springfield Rifles program, and the Canadian Preps, coached by James LeBlanc. East Coast, compiled by coach Matt Lavallee, should be competitive once again as well.

Back in the Showcase is Central, coached by Scot Somerville, and making its HNIB debut is Michigan, put together by Chris Slater of the the Michigan Elite Brigade hockey program.

Two at-large teams ready to show their stuff are Tri-State and Merrimack Valley, consisting of players from the New England region.

And Global Selects, featuring a solid nucleus of players from Sweden, is back to defend its title won in 2017
