Kyelia Colon I am Kyelia Colon, a lifelong Hoboken resident of the Hoboken Housing Authority. I have four children; all have attended the Hoboken Public Schools. I want to be on the Board of Education to build trust, honesty and integrity in our school system starting with a strong administration. We need a strong superintendent, who will support school programs for remediation, staff development and parent involvement. That person needs to understand how important athletics and extracurricular activities are to an urban district. The new superintendent also must pay attention to the Hoboken community’s needs. We must work to unite the staff and community to help all our children. The Board of Education must lead the way by first finding a strong leader. I will look to all of the Hoboken community, so that this job will be done right. As President of the Resident Council Tenants Association – AMP North, I am used to looking for answers with the help of the community. I have also started women’s organizations, so everyone can get answers. That’s what I want most, I want to be on the Board of Education to help find solutions and answers to help our children.
