Getting Around in Dover, England

Jewel of the Seas will dock at Cruise Terminal 2 located in Harbour House Dover Kent, located on the western side of the Port of Dover (Western Docks). In the terminal there are shuttle buses available to take you to the city centre and are 7 GBP /$10/€8 round trip (Cash and Card). The Dover cruise terminals are about 75 miles (120km) from Central London. No shuttle buses are provided between the cruise and the train station or London bus stops at Dover. Taxi cabs at Dover come in a wide range of sizes and shapes. Taxi’s between the cruise terminal and the train station/bus stop are available. The fare should be around £8. *Shuttle buses are not operated by Royal Caribbean. Distance from the ship to Dover city center is approx. 3 miles. Drive time: Approx. 10 minutes. Walking time is approx. 30 minutes.

Mandatory UK Immigration Inspection For All Guests

All guests are required to pass through a mandatory Immigration inspection and must be personally seen by the UK ofcials. The process will take place at the cruise terminal while you are going ashore. If you are not planning to go ashore, you are still required to go through the immigration process between 8:30 am to 11:00 am, immediately after, you can come back onboard. Don’t forget to take with you, your passport and seapass card. Guest failing to attend the clearance process in Dover, will not be permitted to go ashore in any UK and Ireland port.

HELPFUL TIPS FOR TODAY

Getting around in Inverness (Invergordon), Scotland Invergordon Cruise Terminal located 25 miles or approx., 45 minutes’ drive from Inverness. The seaport handles smaller cruise ships, but larger cruise liners go to Invergordon, a deepwater port approx. 39 km (24 mi) from Inverness on Cromarty Firth which allows docking and disembarkation of travelers without the need of ship’s tender. The port features easy access to A9 road and hinterland of Inverness. There is also access to the railway system out of Inverness station. To reach Inverness, a 1-hour train ride, or a public bus, 25X departs from Cameron’s Garden Center every 30 minutes, located on Invergordon High Street, less than a 5-minute walk from the terminal. The total trip duration is approx. 50 minutes cost £12:60 per person for a day ticket. This local bus service gets expanded with extra buses when cruise ships are in port, so all guests are well attended too. The train station is a 10-minute walk, from there trains connect to inverness (50 minutes) and the fare is approx. £11:00 GBP one way.

Due to port health regulations, pets, fora/fauna, and food, including fruits, vegetables, and drinks, are not allowed to be taken of the ship when visiting a port. Food will be collected at the pier and returned to the ship for disposal.

Crew Boat Drill

Sometime this morning, there will be a boat drill for the crew. If you happen to see the crew running around the ship, there’s no need to be alarmed. Just continue enjoying your vacation.

Beverages and other Liquids

Please note that local security authorities will dispose of any liquids returning to the ship. Unopened liquor bottles will be stored onboard for safe keeping and returned to guests on the last day of the cruise.

Stay Safe in Port

Don’t let a misstep ruin your day in port. Mind your step on uneven sidewalks and streets. And please note that some curbs can be very steep.

Lerwick is a major port (Shetland’s primary seaport) and the capital city of Scotland’s Shetland Islands, The main shopping areas in Lerwick are close to hand. Lerwick is a very picturesque town to explore on foot with many interesting places to visit. Upon arrival in Lerwick, visitors can explore the town easily by foot, bus, or taxi. ou ll fnd lots of services and amenities in Lerwick, including the tourist information center, shops to buy gifts and souvenirs, a post o ce, banks and public transport services. An experienced meet and greet team provide a warm and friendly welcome quayside and are ready to assist with any questions you might have.

Lerwick is a tender boat port. Guests on Royal Caribbean excursions should follow the instructions on the front of their excursion ticket or Royal Caribbean App for meeting times and locations. There is a steep step to safely board our tender boats. Please take care to use handrails and take extra care when boarding and exiting tender. Guests who are unable to take the stairs are asked to please do not board. ur staf is not permitted to lift guests or assistive equipment but we will make reasonable eforts to assist our guests with manual wheelchairs, walkers, and canes. Motorized wheelchairs and scooters cannot be taken via tender boats to the pier. Smoking is not permitted.

Going Ashore Via Tender

Crewmembers will guide you when entering and leaving the tenders. Always follow their instructions. Please remain seated in the tender until disembarkation begins and a crew member has indicated it is safe for you to stand.

Boarding the Tenders

Please stand to the right of the stairway while waiting to board a tender from the ship. We know our guests are anxious to get into port but we ask that you respect the queue. The crew will try to get everyone ashore as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Getting Around in Akureyri, Iceland

Akureyri is a major cruise port and one of Iceland’s oldest towns, located approx. 240 km (150 mi) northeast of the country’s capital city Reykjavik. Jewel of the Seas will be docked at Oddeyrarbryggja 12, Strandgata 600 pier, 1km from the town center, just few blocks away (10 min walking distance . The celandic rown kr, is the o cial currency however, all Icelandic banks provide foreign currency exchange & credit cards are widely acceptable. Due to the close proximity to the town, located just 100 m (330 ft) from downtown, there is no local transportation available on the pier. There is a café in the tourist information center which is about 150 m rom the ship s exit gate. n the port you will nd a souvenir shop and a ree wi point. rom the cruise port it is only a minute walk to get to the city center o kureyri. The walk is fat and is clearly marked as well. Usually there are taxis available at the cruise dock. There are public buses serving the area rom kureyri. ind the main bus station at the exit o the port. You will know when you are there if you spot the yellow buses. There is a hop on hop of bus not open top or uros per person located on the left as you exit the port.

Avoid lining up to settle your SeaPass account. Register your credit card on the Royal Caribbean App or at Guest Services on Deck 4 – no check–out will be required.

Beverages

and other Liquids

Please note that local security authorities will dispose of any liquids returning to the ship. Unopened liquor bottles will be stored onboard for safe keeping and returned to guests on the last day of the cruise.

Bringing Food Ashore

Due to port health regulations, food, including fruits, vegetables and drinks, is not allowed to be taken of the ship when visiting a port or a fne will be issued.

Tax Refund in Iceland

Guests who purchased items in stores displaying the “Global Tax Free Shopping “in Iceland, can bring the receipts together with the Global Tax–Free form, completed and signed, to the drop box at the Guest Services Deck 4. Don’t forget your form must have Customs Stamp for your Global Tax Refunds. Deadline to drop your receipts will be on May 24th at 9:00 am.

SeaPass Card Cash Limit

The credit limit for cash SeaPass cards is $500. Once this limit is reached, the account will be deactivated. To reactivate, a cash deposit is needed or simply link a credit card. Visit Guest Services to learn more.

Getting Around in Reykjavik, Iceland

Jewel of the Seas will dock at Sundahofn arbour. The facility has a 650-m/2130-ft long quay/dock, the terminal is east of the city center, approximately 4 km east or 50 minute walking distance to downtown. Downtown area is relatively small therefore, easy to explore on foot. In the Skarfabakki Terminal it provides amenities such as restrooms, seating areas, and Wi Fi connectivity. The Icelandic Crown (kr, ISK) is the ofcial currency; however, all Icelandic banks provide foreign currency exchange & credit cards are widely acceptable. Complimentary shuttle buses are ofered by the port to downtown and available from 10:00 am, pick up outside cruise terminal & will take you into the Harpen Concert Hall in the city center, the last shuttle bus back to the ship leaves at 6:00 pm or, you can take a long but pleasant walk back (approx. 30 mins) by following the waterfront path. (Please note: shuttle buses are not operated by Royal Caribbean Int.) Taxis and private transfers are available outside the terminal. City sightseeing operates a hop on, hop of bus. Adjacent to the Mi bakki terminal, the Old arbor area ofers picturesque waterside views and is dotted with excellent seafood restaurants, cozy cafes, and the engaging Saga Museum, perfect for history bufs.

Getting Around in Cork (Cobh), Ireland

Jewel of the Seas will be docked close to downtown, next to Cobh Heritage Centre. About a 5-minute walk to reach the picturesque town of Cobh. Distance from the ship to Cork is approx., 14.2 miles, driving time approx., 45 mins. This port has Ireland’s only dedicated cruise terminal facility. Cobh serves as the gateway to Cork, which is about 20 KM away. There is a train service from the port of Cobh to the center of Cork. The train station is right at the port, generally running every hour with a journey time of 25 minutes. The roundtrip ticket costs approx., €10 Euros for adults & €3 Euros for children. (Limited services on Sunday).

Taxis are available outside the port and the fare to Cork is approx., €35-45 uros one way. op on of buses by Cork City sightseeing tour are available. There will be no shuttle bus service as directly in town. The Republic of Ireland is part of the Eurozone, so the currency is Euro. Stand alone cash machines are widely available and credit cards are accepted. Fees are not generally charged by Irish ATM’s (but your bank may charge a fee). English is spoken everywhere but Irish (Gaeilge) is the frst ofcial language.

Since then, he has worked onboard Monarch, Enchantment, Radiance and Serenade of the Seas until he was a part of the new building team of Liberty of the Seas in Turku Finland. After Liberty he moved to the Allure of the Seas, before he joined Azamara Club Cruises for a few years, later returning to Royal Caribbean International. After four and a half years onboard the Vision of the Seas and recently on the Independence of the Seas, Captain Michael Lindberg welcomes you onboard the beautiful Jewel of the Seas and wishes you the best cruise vacation on the seven seas.

Tony was born in Norwich, England. He joined Royal Caribbean in 1998 as Food & Beverage Director, later to be appointed as the first Hotel Director on Splendor of the Seas. Tony oversees the ship’s hotel services, housekeeping, food & beverage, onboard revenue & entertainment areas. Tony has worked on all the Sovereign, Vision and Radiance class of ships, also, Voyager and Freedom class and recently has made his home onboard the beautiful Anthem of the Seas. Tony graduated from the University of Wales with a degree in Hotel Management in 1981, worked in London, UK for Marriott/Sheraton Hotels, then ventured overseas in 1989 assisted in the development of tourism, opening resorts for Sandals in St. Lucia, Grenada, Jamaica & Bahamas after which he joined cruise ships. Originally from Norwich, Norfolk, England. Tony comes from a catering family who owned properties in and around orfolk, hence his passion for the hotel industry. Tony graduated from Cardif niversity in 1984, joined Sheraton Hotels in London within food & beverage, then moved to the country house hotel market in the west country of England as eneral anager before being ofered a position in the Caribbean. Here he assisted in the development, training & opening at resorts in St. Lucia, Grenada, Trinidad & Nassau. While working as Manager for Sandals Resorts in Nassau, Tony received a call of the sea from Royal Caribbean Intl., in 1998 and has never looked back. Tony has worked on most class of ships over the years, gathering a plethora of seafarer stories over his 26 years with the Company. Aysy was born and raised in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny in Russia. She went to Preston Hight School in Kingwood, West Virginia, and was convinced that she would become a teacher just like her mother and a grandmother. She went on to get her Masters Degree in Teaching English and German as a Foreigh Language. During University years she was involved in Musical Theater and Performance Art and found herself enjoying hosting & organizing events and activities. After graduating the University, Aysy started working as a Cruise Director’s Staf on the Splendour of the Seas and fell in love with “all things” cruising. She has decided to build a career at sea and has worked her way up through the ranks until she was promoted to a Cruise Director on Oasis of

Ciara was born and raised County of Cork, Ireland. working in the hospitality years of age as a waiter, transition to Front Desk seemed natural as Ciara ‘gift of the gab’! In 2004 Ciara decided enough with went searching for some much needed sunshine. to her first cruise ship job as a Cadet Purser sailing Beach, California. As the years went by Ciara moved to Guest Services Manager/ Chief Purser working from Australia to China to Europe and of course Western and Eastern homeports in the USA. Ciara the Marketing and Revenue Manager Position in being part of the inaugural and opening teams on Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas the Seas. At the take out of Symphony of the Seas promoted to Manager Hotel Operations which brings Ciara was promoted to Hotel Director.

Daniel was born in Portsmouth, England. He holds the position of Cruise Director for Royal Caribbean which looks after and plans the entire entertainment program for your cruise vacation. He is a brand new Cruise Director for Royal Caribbean, having previously worked for sister brands Silversea Cruises and T for a number of years in similar positions. e was previously a professional performer in musicals, both in merica and England, including the ersey Boys over in the . e also en oys performing his Tom ones Tribute ct. aniel is excited to be delivering and guiding the terrifc entertainment program that Royal Caribbean ofers our guests and cannot wait to meet you during your voyage!

ONBOARD EXPENSE ACCOUNT

Setting Up Your Account

If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck . Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. You may add other guests to your expense account by visiting the Guest Services desk. A daily limit can be placed on arcade spending. All charges can be viewed in the Royal Caribbean App. Printed receipts will be provided for each onboard purchase. A final statement will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours of departing the ship on the last day of your cruise. Guests on a cash account will need to settle their account at Guest Services prior to disembarking the ship.

Specialty Dining Reservations

Specialty Dining reservations can be made through the Royal Caribbean App. You may also dial 5 on your stateroom phone and select the restaurant you wish to dine in or visit the restaurant and make a reservation with the Maitre d' outside. The Maitre d' can also assist you with making changes to your seating.

Room Service

Continental breakfast is complimentary. Both the All-Day Menu and American Breakfast will have a delivery fee of $7.95 plus an 18% gratuity for each order. To view the menu, visit the Royal App. When you’re ready to order, dial [7000] from your stateroom phone.

How much are gratuities?

$18.00 $20.50

If not already pre-paid, a $16.00 gratuity ($18.50 for Suite guests) is added to each guest's onboard account daily to help recognize superior service from crew during your cruise. This gratuity is shared among dining & culinary services staf, stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams working behind the scenes. In addition to daily gratuities, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage, mini bar items, specialty dining, and spa & salon purchases.
