Reminiscing – recreating diasporic identarian childhood memories

A self-experimental and exploratory approach to the recreation of a diasporic identitary childhood memory. Memories that are differentiated, defined and deconstructed. A soundscape is created that never took place identically. It is abstracted, realized in the form of a composition and an installation. Realities confront each other and redefine a resulting imaginary soundscape. Thinking back and thinking anew. Changing but reminiscing.

Stefano Christen Une autoroute, un marais

“Une autoroute, un marais” is an interactive installation focusing on the Düdingen swamp, a nature reserve right next to a highway. It targets this particular sound environment, trying to explore the complex interactions between the living and the road, and how much the traffic disturbs the surrounding nature. I chose to come to the Düdingen swamp as much as possible, listening to the place again and again, and recording my thoughts and the sound environment.

This installation is an attempt to invite people to listen to our near environment, and to sharpen our attention. Rather than proposing a clear path into the swamp, the installation is not always proposing the same path, trying to mirror the experience one would have when coming to the swamp. Each time is slightly different…

Lucas Häfliger Trucks

Trucks ist eine ortsbezogene Installation. Zwischen den Gebäuden der HKB und des Militärs wird das vermutlich erste Mehrkanal-Lautsprechersystem der Geschichte nachgebaut. Die Arbeit setzt sich mit dem Ursprung von Audiotechnik und der Nähe zum Militär auseinander.
