where to send in your For students who're looking to improve their acting skills with professional Meisner training, the Maggie Flanigan Studio's two year acting program may be just the ticket. There are only a precious few spaces available for this program. In 2001, the Maggie Flanigan Studio opened its doors for the very first time. At first, the only techniques taught at the studio revolved around Meisner acting and methods. In order to better help its students to grow and develop, the school later expanded and now offers three different acting programs. Along with the acting programs themselves, the acting studio has been pleased to welcome a number of new coaches and instructors to the faculty. This fall will mark the 10th year that Charlie Sandlan has been an instructor at the Maggie Flanigan Studio. Charlie has taught a myriad of classes, including introductory courses, secondyear technique, film and television, monologue, and cold reading; he has also held additional responsibilities as the school's Executive Director. The Backstage Readers Choice Awards has presented Charlie with a number of awards, including Best Monologue Coach and Best Cold Reading Teacher. We're pleased to welcome Karen Chamberlain to our staff this year; she will be taking on all first-year classes and Charlie will be taking over all second-year technique classes. All second-year auxiliary classes and workshops will also be taught by Karen. Both Karen Chamberlain and Charlie Sandlan attended the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers and received Masters in Fine Arts under the guidance of William Esper and Maggie Flanigan herself. About the Maggie Flanigan Studio The Maggie Flanigan Studio in NYC opened in 2001 and has quickly become the highest ranked Meisner studio in America. Students can learn the Meisner method from our Senior Acting Instructor and Executive Director, Charlie Sandlan. Once their two year training program is complete, students are able to continue in the studio's Master Class program, which is taught by Maggie Flanigan, the school's Master Teacher and Artistic Director. The Maggie Flanigan studio is proud to offer three comprehensive training programs at the school, including a Professional Actor Training Program, a Core Training Program, and the original Meisner Acting Program. This program at the Meisner training studio provides students with the opportunity to be placed in a casting suite that allows them one-on-one interaction with other acting professionals.
