Well, prepare to have your mind blown with the explosion of colors and artful details of Wanderlust. There is no chance in heck the artwork could have been produced with the traditional screenprint process. (Think of digital printing as Blu-Ray and screenprinting as DVD.) But with the advances (and affordability) of today’s digital printing, there is no limit to the number of colors and fine details we can offer quilters and sewists in a truly captivating collection like Wanderlust. Since 1988, the Hoffman Challenge has inspired tens of thousands of quilters and sewists to test their technical and creative skills. Co-sponsored by Aurifil Thread, the contest offers cash and product prizes, and the chance for quilters and sewists to see their work exhibited as part of a yearlong tour. For the 2015 Hoffman Challenge, the contest fabric is M7405 381G-Pomegranate Gold, selected from our Mandalay collection. Participating shops receive lots of marketing support and tools to assist in merchandising the collection, including: ▪ A 9” X 13”, easel-back, point-of-purchase sign to display with the Challenge collection. The poster has a digital tag readable by smart phones that take viewers to the Hoffman Challenge website (www.hoffmanchallenge.com) maintained by curator Melissa Ratzlaff. ▪ A 4” X 5” window cling for the shop door or window announcing the shop as “an authorized retailer.” The window cling includes the digital tag as well. ▪ At least five 11” X 17” Hoffman Challenge brochures to distribute (more available upon request.) ▪ Separate listing as a Challenge shop on the Hoffman Fabrics website. ▪ Inclusion in the monthly enewsletter sent to “opted-in” quilters and sewists. ▪ Inclusion in our social-media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Flickr) for the Challenge. ▪ The 2015 Hoffman Challenge will be promoted in Quiltmaker magazines and McCall’s Quilting.

Mandalay Our concepts for fabric designs are inspired by fashion, nature, culture and places far and wide. In the case of Mandalay, inspiration struck with a friend who let us borrow a vintage, woven-print jacket she bought while traveling through Rangoon, Mandalay, Monywa, Sittwe and other cities in Myanmar (Burma).The country is known for its intricate woven textiles, hence the many lovely details, textures and rich colors that run through our collection.

Hoffman Bali Batiks Classic textiles handcrafted around the globe inspired our 2015 Summer collection of Hoffman Bali Batiks.
Beautifully detailed designs suggest tapestry (M2718); loom weaving (M2719); blanket weaving (M2720); needlepoint (M2721) and hand stitching (M2722). There’s even a fun-and-funky chain knit (M2730)! Other texture-inspired designs that beg to be touched include Bohemian “embroidered” florals (M2728); abstract paisleys (M2731); floral spirals (M2732); and dotted swirls (M2727). We took an artful approach to leaves (M2724) and pressed flowers (M2725), with each petal and vein looking as though they were brush-painted. Here’s breakdown of blocks for And On That Farm: Block 1 – And A Big Quilt Here, And A Small Quilt There – Farms in the rolling fields “show their colors” with decorative barn quilts. Block 2 – EI-EI-OH! – Trio of two roosters and a chicken take their places around the barnyard. Block 3 – She Had Some Chicks – A kitten appears mystified by the swarm of baby chicks.

Block 4 – Here A BAHHH – A sweet-faced sheep holds on to her lush wool – for now. Block 5 – With An Oink, Oink Here – Pig gets some fiber into his diet by chomping on a sunflower. Block 6 – And A Moo, Moo There – A dairy cow seems taken aback at Pig’s atrocious chomping.

Block 7 – There A Mah-Ah-Ah – Uh, oh, Goat has found a quilt to be quite tasty. Block 8 – And On That Farm -Mama Duck and Ducklings follow a trailing flower vine.
