International Business and Languages Do you have a gift for languages and want to combine it with your interest in marketing, sales and export? Do you want to learn more about different cultures and trade customs? If so, you may have the right profile for an international career in business. At the English-language International Business and Languages (IBL) programme, you will learn the ins and outs of doing business internationally. You will also learn to communicate in a variety of languages. Having successfully completed the programme, you can work as an intermediary between a company and its business relations abroad. You might work for a trading company, or one in the Business-to-Business (B2B) service sector. You will then play an important role in the total business communication, with involvement in such things as marketing problems, dealing with business administration and developing export opportunities. During this exciting programme, which will give you the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), you will study abroad for a period of time.

All-rounder with International Expertise International Business and Languages is a four year full-time programme taught in English and is designed for people with initiative who are keen to look beyond national boundaries. It is a very broad-based programme with an emphasis on practical matters. You are trained to be an allrounder with knowledge of international marketing, sales and communication. You will also acquire a good, practical familiarity with languages used in business. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of other countries and cultures, work on international assignments, and go abroad

to study for at least six months. At the moment there is a growing demand for multilingual em足ployees, which means that you have a good chance to find employment after the four years of study. For instance in a commercial position in which foreign 足contacts play an important role, in inter足national trading or the B2B service sector.

are available in co-operation with the University of Amsterdam. By taking one of these, you can achieve your Master’s degree within eighteen months to two years of being awarded your Bachelor’s degree. The best students – those with an average score of seven in all subjects in every year of the course – sometimes have the option of continuing their studies at an American or British university and working towards an MBA (Master of Business Administration).

Location The International Business and Languages programme is taught at Fraijlemaborg, near the Amsterdam ArenA. This location offers practice-oriented education with a personal approach and an international orientation. Theory forms the basis of the programme – you will begin by studying theory and can later apply this to practical assignments. All students receive structure, class training and individual guidance. Active sports also form part of the programme.

Admission In order to be admitted to the International Business and Languages programme, you will need to have completed secondary education on a level equivalent to the Dutch havo, vwo or mbo level 4.
