Snow Reports Snow Reports are posted daily on the ski field’s websites & are available in print from 7am in most hotels in Queenstown, Wanaka and Methven. Each mountain also broadcasts a phone report by 7am, local phone charges apply. These daily snow reports give you the most current snow & weather conditions, road conditions & chain requirements, boundary & closure information along with which lifts and base lodge facilities are operating and any other pertinent information for the day. We urge you to check out this information before you head up the mountain. Alternately you can call the National Snow phone for weather reports on 0900 99 SNO (766) costs incurred per minute.

Dressing for the day Dress in layers fit for an alpine environment. Start with a good thermal layer for both your upper and lower body. This will act as a second skin, pulling moisture away from your body and keep you nice and warm. As a second & third layer it is good to wear a long sleeve T-shirt or micro fleece to keep you snug and lastly as an outer layer a good water and windproof jacket & pants. It is essential to take warm, waterproof gloves, a woollen hat, sunscreen and sunglasses or goggles. Because of the reflection of the snow, sunscreen is recommended at all times. These items are not included with clothing hire (for hygiene reasons). If needed they can be purchased from the on-mountain shops.

Getting there - Mountain Transfers Shuttle Bus Transfers: • Regular shuttle services run from Queenstown to Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Cardrona and Treble Cone • A daily shuttle service operates from Wanaka to Treble Cone and Cardrona. As do services from Christchurch or Methven to Mount Hutt Open dated transfer vouchers can be prepurchased before leaving home. All you have to do is phone 24 hours in advance and prebook the actual day and time.

Getting there - Self Drive: Free car parking is available near the base lodge at each ski area. If you have children with you, use the mountain parking area drop-off zone. Remember to do a gear check before the car heads to the parking lot! Don’t forget goggles, gloves & sunscreen. It is essential that every vehicle (incl. 4WD) carry chains on all mountain access roads. A chain hire & fitting service is available on The Remarkables & Mt Hutt access roads, but NOT at Coronet Peak which is sealed & rarely requires chains. Treble Cone - chains are not available for hire on the mountain. We urge you to pre-book them with your rental car. Cardrona - Safety crews man the access road and can fit chains for a nominal charge.

Child Minding Facilities Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt: Licensed infant care from 3 months old. Capacity is limited so bookings are essential once you arrive in Queenstown. Treble Cone: Highly organised for children. The Treble Cone Cat Club is for children 5 to 15 years. The program runs from 10.15am to 3.30pm & includes a lift pass, equipment rental, supervised lunch plus 2 hours in the morning & another 2 hours in the afternoon of snow coaching. The min. age is 5 yrs. Rates on application. Cardrona: This field has great children’s facilities designed for caring for kids and building their confidence on the slopes. Age 3 months – under 2 years old – Cardrona Nursery (must book direct) Age 2-4 years old – Ski Kindy (must book direct) Age 5-14 years old – Kids Club (to snowboard must be from Age 7 years +) Kids Club can be prebooked and subject to the package booked will provide full day supervision, lunch, snacks, equipment, clothing and 4 hours of lessons daily. Note: All child minding facilities can be heavily booked particularly during the school holidays therefore we urge you to book as soon as possible.

Ski & Snowboard Lessons Group lessons do not need to be prebooked, however it is essential to arrive early on the first day and allow about one hour for ticketing & rental fitting. Lessons are the fastest way to improve your skills on snow. Group lesson times are generally mid morning and early afternoon & run for approx. 2 hours. Whether you are a complete beginner or require a refresher course, there are packages which will cover it all. We have a number of beginner/first timer packages available which include key components you will need on the ski fields such as lessons, rental equipment & access to the novice lifts.

Collecting Your Rental Equipment A credit card or drivers license is required as ID when hiring rental equipment. Each ski field has a storage area where you can leave shoes, bags etc. The cost is approx. $5 per day. When fitting into your ski/snowboard boots we recommend wearing one pair of thick un-ribbed socks. Take an extra pair of thin socks as a backup.

Getting Ready To Tackle The Mountain Once you are sorted with your equipment you can leave any bags/shoes in the secure storage facility (a minimal fee applies). The mountain staff can direct you to where this is located. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen and make the kids visit the loo! If you are having a lesson make sure you are in the meeting spot 10 minutes prior so you will be all set and ready to go!

Meals Each of the ski fields have cafe facilities offering a large variety of snacks and meals. Don’t forget to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and to keep a few chocolate bars hidden in your ski jacket to keep you & the kids going. It is very important that you start your day with a hearty breakfast.

Lift Passes Lifts operate from approx 9am to 4pm daily, weather & snow conditions permitting.

Kids - Free Lift passes Coronet Peak & Remarkables - 6 years & under Mt Hutt - 10 years & under Treble Cone - 5 years and under Cardrona - 5 years and under

Trained patrol staff monitor on-slope safety constantly. In the event of an accident, each ski base has a medical centre as well as access to a doctor.

Without a travel agent, you’re on your own Booking Information & Conditions This brochure is produced as a supplement to ANZCRO’s New Zealand Book. The information below is produced for conditions specific to the product in this brochure. All other conditions as detailed in ANZCRO’s New Zealand Book also apply and should be read in association with this brochure. Please ask your Travel Agent for a copy of the ANZCRO New Zealand Book.

Validity This brochure is valid for sale from Jan 2015, for travel from 1 Jun to 30 Sep 15. All details in this brochure reflect information available to Australia New Zealand Central Reservations Office (herein after referred to as ANZCRO) at the time of printing (Jan 15).

Deposits A non-refundable deposit of $110 per person is required within 6 days of confirmation. This will guarantee your confirmed holiday price. Some activities/products have their own strict deposit regulations which you will be made aware of at the time of booking. Failure to pay the deposit within 6 days of confirmation will result in automatic cancellation of all travel arrangements.

Payments Full payment of land arrangements is required 30 days prior to departure. Bookings made within 30 days of travel must be paid in full immediately upon confirmation. Refer to ANZCRO’s New Zealand Book for further details.

Late Bookings ANZCRO reserves the right to charge a late booking fee of $33 to cover additional costs associated with bookings made within 10 days of travel.

Amendments First time amendment is FREE. All additional amendments are liable to a max. charge of $33 per amendment. Once Travel Documents have been issued, all amendments will be charged. Airline tickets have additional amendment charges. Please ask your Travel Agent.

Snow Season Snow and ski conditions are entirely subject to natural weather conditions. ANZCRO does not take responsibility for snow and ski quality. Generally in New Zealand the ski season operates from mid June to the end of September, however this could vary for each ski area and season. ANZCRO takes no responsibility for the start and finish dates for skiing at any New Zealand ski fields.

Refunds

assist you with this. Cancellation fees charged by ANZCRO will not be waived under any circumstances, where travel insurance may have covered you.

Airline Disclaimer The airlines do not, by virtue of their endorsement of this brochure, represent themselves either as contracting with any purchaser of a holiday from ANZCRO or as having any other legal relationship with any other purchaser.

Pricing All prices in this brochure are expressed in Australian dollars and include New Zealand Goods & Services Tax. ANZCRO reserves the right to amend without notice, any prices in this brochure. We refer particularly but are not limited to amendments due to currency exchange fluctuations, the withdrawal or adjustment of contracted rates with land and service providers, New Zealand or Australian Government charges and printing errors. Rates in this brochure reflect information available to ANZCRO at the time of printing (Jan 15) and all possible care has been taken in its compilation. Current valid prices will be advised on request and confirmation by way of invoice to your Travel Agent when your booking is made. Pricing will be guaranteed only after ANZCRO has received total payment.

Documentation A valid Passport is required by all travellers to New Zealand. Those not travelling on an Australian Passport may require a Visa. This is the travellers responsibility. Air Tickets and Travel Vouchers will be issued after full payment has been received by ANZCRO. Documents will be forwarded to the Travel Agent by standard mail. If Express Post or a Courier is required, a fee will be charged at ANZCRO’s discretion.

Prices are per person, multishare as stated and are subject to availability. Prices shown are for travel 10 July to 31 August 2015 and are valid for sales to 30 April 2015. For travel outside July/August and for sales 1 May onwards, surcharges or discounts may apply so please enquire for price details. Prices were correct at the time of print (Jan 15) but are subject to change without notice. Where a Britz Rentals vehicle is included please see page 6 for detailed vehicle hire conditions. Where a Hertz Rentals vehicle is included please see page 6 for detailed vehicle hire conditions. Ski product included in packages is non refundable. Ski conditions and season length vary from year to year. All packages with vehicles are priced to include an airport pick up fee of NZ$51.75, but this fee cannot be paid in Australia prior to departure. The 14 day Works package is based on 2 adults and 2 children (Age 2-12 years) travelling. Some sightseeing restrictions may apply depending on child ages at time of travel.
