KIDS ON THE MOUNTAIN
Treble Cone is the largest ski area with the largest vertical drop in the Southern Lakes. Long, sweeping uncrowded groomed runs, a 6-person express lift, a quad chair and 2 beginner lifts. Expansive terrain which caters for all abilities both in the Home Basin and Saddle Basin along with the highest average annual snowfall in the country! Treble Cone is an exciting place to ride, so much fun natural terrain to find and enjoy, on a powder day it is unbeatable, come and see for yourself!
Ski lessons begin from ages 5 -17 years and there are full day programmes available which include a healthy and delicious lunch. For children aged 2 - 4 years they will joining the Kitty Cat Club which is a 1 hour lesson and the use of ski and boots for the duration. Beginner group lessons are capped at 5 kids per instructor.
GETTING THERE Treble Cone has daily shuttles leaving from Wanaka, or you could self-drive all the way up to the mountain or catch one of our free shuttles from the base of the mountain.

GETTING THERE Self-drive just 35 mins from Tekapo Village, an easy wide access road has a gradual gradient to the base of the resort, daily shuttle service is available from the village, the shuttle leaves town at 8am and departs from Roundhill at 4:15pm.

LOCATION Centred in the middle of the North Island, half way between Wellington and Auckland, 4hr drive each way. Mt Ruapehu is an active volcano and Whakapapa (pronounced fukka-puppa) is located on the North-west slopes.
TERRAIN Whakapapa has 4 lifts, 3 T-bars and 4 carpet lifts. Whakapapa is home to Happy Valley, New Zealand’s premier beginner’s area that sits in a stand alone valley, away from the more experienced skiers and boarders.

After an early morning weather check, we collect you from your accom & take you to the staging area. Start with a safety briefing covering avalanche transceivers, helicopter and mountain safety, before flying off to the first heli-ski run. All groups meet for a alpine buffet lunch with time to relax. The afternoon is back to the ultimate - more heli-ski runs.
Do I need powder skis? No but the new wide body powder skis will assist you to ski even better, we can recommend a variety of hire equipment retailers.
How long are the runs? Run length varies depending on the terrain and snow conditions. Our exclusive terrain offers runs that vary between 2000 and 2500 vertical feet of treeless skiing in sheltered basins, bowls and wide rolling mountain flanks through to steep and gnarly chutes.
What do I need to bring? You will need to bring your skis/board or hire equipment & warm clothing - a windproof jacket and pants, warm gloves, sunglasses or goggles and sunscreen. The day is spectacular, so bring a camera to capture your heli-ski day.

All details in this brochure reflect information available to Australia New Zealand Central Reservations Office Ltd (herein after referred to as ANZCRO) at the time of printing (Jan 2018). Snow & ski conditions are entirely subject to natural weather conditions. ANZCRO does not take responsibility for snow & ski quality. Generally in New Zealand the ski season operates from mid-June to the end of September. ANZCRO takes no responsibility for the start and finish dates for skiing at any New Zealand ski fields.
DEPOSITS A non-refundable deposit of $110 per person is required within 6 days of confirmation. This will guarantee your confirmed holiday price. Some activities/products have their own strict deposit regulations which you will be made aware of at the time of booking. Failure to pay the deposit within 6 days of confirmation will result in automatic cancellation of all travel arrangements.
PAYMENTS Full payment is due 30 days prior to departure. Bookings made within 30 days of intended travel are to be paid in full immediately upon confirmation. Certain special airfares may require payment immediately upon booking. In the event that ANZCRO agrees to the acceptance of Credit Card payments, they will be made available through special arrangement with the Travel Agent, ANZCRO reserves the right to charge a fee to the Credit Card Holder for this service.
