About LamanBlu™ LamanBlu™ is eco-‐friendly contemporary apparel for every liCle princess and prince charming. The collec:on debuted to rave reviews in 2009 and is made en:rely in the USA, much of it in Colorado. The company’s mission is to Celebrate Childhood. We do this by craZing beau:ful apparel with exquisite detailing to take a child through their en:re day, from holding court in the morning to figh:ng dragons in the aZernoon. LamanBlu™ believes in using eco-‐ friendly fabrics, which are gentle to our environment and to a child’s delicate skin – fabrics including modal, organic coCons, recycled polyesters and washable linens. We know children insist on being comfortable and have ease of movement no maCer what they’re wearing, and all our styles go through extensive wear tes:ng by real kids. Whether they’re twirling around the room or hanging on the monkey bars, their clothing has to move with them, and even delicate looking clothing has to be durable enough to stand up to a child’s day. We are also advocates for mom’s busy lives and everything in our collec:on is machine washable, ironing op:onal. Another way LamanBlu™ carries out its mission to Celebrate Childhood is to support chari:es protec:ng children and protec:ng our world for them. Holli Gibson, designer for LamanBlu™, is an industry veteran, who spent much of her career designing clothing for women out of Dallas and New York for high end retailers including Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Fabrications Organic Co2on: Organic coCon is farmed naturally. Yes, naturally. This means no more insec:cides, synthe:c fer:lizers, just nature at its best, resul:ng in a healthy you and environment, especially for the liCle ones in our lives who have sensi:ve systems and skin. Third-‐party organiza:ons cer:fy that organic coCon farms use only these approved methods and do not spray toxic chemicals on their crops. Research has played a significant role in developing uses for the coCon plant, including its byproducts, thereby reducing and elimina:ng what had once been considered to be bio-‐waste. LamanBlu’s coCon/ Lycra knit has Lycra for ul:mate stretch, comfort, soZness and durability. Linen: The finest 100% linen is one of the purest cloths there is. It is light and comfortable, and has a coolness and absorbency that make it ideal for sunny days. It is an ideal fabric for children's sensi:ve skins and especially good for those with skin condi:ons, such as allergies and eczema, because it has a natural pH balance. Linen is very environmentally friendly. It comes from flax and every part of the plant is used. The finest fibers are used to make linen fabrics and the by-‐products are used to make everything from oil to caCle feed to bank notes and fiber board. Waste is minimal and any chemicals used are always fully treated before disposal. Micro Modal: is a 100% biodegradable tex:le made from beechwood, a natural raw material and basic component for the fabric. Modal is the most luxurious cellulose fiber. SoZ, smooth, silky – so light and delicate that you hardly feel it. It has excellent moisture absorp:ve and release capaci:es that let your skin breathe. Its smooth texture, its soZ look, and the capability to dye brilliant colors make Modal ideal for high-‐quality apparel. Bamboo: Bamboo is an eco-‐friendly, sustainable crop that grows wild without the aid of fer:lizers or pes:cides. Bamboo fabric is naturally an:bacterial, an:fungal and an:sta:c. Bamboo absorbs water 3-‐4 :mes beCer than coCon, keeping skin comfortable, rather than s:cky, in summer weather. And, Bamboo stays 2-‐3 degrees cooler in hot weather & warmer in cold. LamanBlu’s Bamboo is a designer weight fabric with enough lycra to give it great performance (unlike issues that lower quality bamboo has such as "knees in pants" memory and loss of shape over :me). Water Based Screen Prin<ng: Why do eco-‐conscious people want their apparel printed with water based screen prin:ng? The answer might be the same if you asked the ques:on, “why do people want organic and/or natural foods?”; or “why should we drive cars that are more fuel efficient?”. And So On. You already know the answer: because the lower impact water based screen prin:ng has on our environment creates a cleaner, more efficient world for us to live in. Water Based Digital Prin<ng: Digital tex:le printers are large-‐format inkjet printers specially modified to run fabric. Unlike conven:onal tex:le manufacturing, digital prin:ng entails very liCle waste of fabric, in, water or electricity. We use eco-‐friendly, water-‐based pigment inks on natural fiber tex:les. No addi:onal chemicals are used in the prin:ng or prepara:on process. Doing our part for the environment doesn’t end with the products we use and the way we conduct our business: we believe there’s more to it than that.
