ITINERARY
DAY ONE
Morning departure travelling to Lancashire and the Port of Heysham to join our Afternoon Ferry to Douglas – Isle of Man.
It’s just a short distance to our Hotel where we base on our 4 Night stay to include Dinner and full English Breakfasts.
DAY TWO
After Breakfast we travel to the World-Famous Laxey Wheel – The largest working water wheel of its kind and a landmark of the Isle of Man.
From here we transfer to connect with the Manx electric Railway for a wonderful Tram Ride to the Holiday Resort of Ramsey – Here there will be time for Lunch.
This afternoon we travel to the West of the island to the Town of Peel – Well known for its Castle and House of Manannan Museum.
We then call at Knockaloe – the sight of a First World War Internment Camp for German, Austro-Hungarian and Turkish Men.
Travelling back to our Hotel, we stop for a brief view of Tynwald Hill – Home of the 1000 year old Manx Parliament.
DAY THREE
A leisurely day to include a visit to the stables of the Promenade Horse Drawn Tramway and a day in Douglas – the islands Capital.
You can visit the Manx Museum, take advantage of the Shops, Restaurants and attractive Victorian Promenade.
DAY FOUR
Enjoy Breakfast and then we depart to join the Isle of Man Steam Railway. Step back in time as we travel to Port Erin – there will be time to pop into the Railway Museum and take in the Coastal views of this lovely town.
We then travel to Cregneash Folk Village used in the filming of ‘Waking Ned’ and to ‘The Sound’ with views of the Calf of Man Island and its marine life.
From here we visit Castletown with its Historic School House and Castle and then we continue to ‘Bungalow’ to join our return electric Railway journey to the top of Snaefell at over 2000 feet above sea level.
We return to our Hotel for a relaxing evening.
DAY FIVE
An early Breakfast before we transfer to join our 08:45am return crossing to Heysham and onwards back to the West Midlands.
