Plateau State is one of the 36 states of the Giant of Africa, Nigeria. Home of Peace and Tourism, Plateau State is a state with diversity of religion, of cultures and of ethnicities. The state is endowed with so much natural resources such as the world’s largest known deposits of columbite, tin, which has also been exploited since the 1940s. Smaller quantities of tantalite, wolfram (tungsten), kaolin, zircon, and uranium are also mined. Lead and iron ore are found in eastern and central parts of Plateau State.

KHUM’GBOW LEGEND

Film Screened At The 7th Annual Hollywood Weekly Magazine Film Festival

According to oral tradition from excerpts of the movie titled, “KHUM’GBOW THE LEGEND”, shot in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, Queen Amina the warrior, died during a military campaign organised by an emissary to the Sokoto caliphate at the Ganawuri regions of the then Gwash (now Jos), situated within the beauty of the middle belt region of Nigeria.

The director of “The legend of Khum’gbow” highlights the legendary Queen’s conquest and the region she spent years to grapple, especially with the child that was plucked from her and the generation that child sired at the existence of the kwararafa and who “The lost star of the North” generation are presently.

According to the director, Amb Hoom Suk, his portrayal of the film will also showcase the exploits of Queen Amina’s son around the people of Kwararafa kingdom and her vivacious Bori priestesses of old, in subsequent series to be shot with a cast of over 1,500 people and will give a more vigorous definition to the definition of ‘Feminism’ and what it stands for today, creating the perfect balance and opportunities for women to stand up and achieve whatever they desire.
