Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me To be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow Of smiles when day is done. I'd like to leave an echo Whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times, and laughing times And bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve To dry before the sun Of happy memories I leave Behind-when day is done. Helen L. Marshall

One does not love a place less

59

I believe that order is better than chaos, creation better than destruction. I prefer gentleness to violence, forgiveness to vendetta. On the whole I think that knowledge is preferable to ignorance, and I am sure that human sympathy is more valuable than ideology. Above all I believe in the God-given genius of certain individuals, and I value a society that makes their existence possible. It is lack of confidence, more than anything else, that kills a civilization. We can destroy ourselves by cynicism and disillusion, just as effectively as by bombs. One may be optimistic, but one can' exactly be joyful at the prospect before

It gives us great pleasure at this time to extend our sincerest thanks to the many people who supported us in the production of the 1972 FAMILOGUE. We earnestly tried to portray many aspects of expression at Holy Family College.

First of all, we would like to thank the folio 'ng establishments for the generous use of their facilities: PHILADELPHIA MARITIME MUSEUM, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY, INDEPENDENCE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK, THE WARWICK, THE BARCLAY, ATWATER KENT MUSEUM, ALPARTMENTT. FRETH'S ALLEY MUSEUM, WFIL, SALEM HARBOR, NAZARETH HOSPITAL, FRIENDS'EETING HOUSE, and THE PHILADELPHIA FIRE DENext, we gratefully acknowledge the generous assistance of members of the Administration and their secretaries: Sister M. Lillian, Mrs. Wiegand, Mrs. Adamczyk, Mrs. Wesley, Mrs. Pachucki, Sister M. Praxede, Mrs. Cordek, Mrs. Haldis, and Mrs. Henry; also many thanks to Margaret for much needed morale boosting. It goes 'thout saying that we are indebted to the members of our staff for all their sacrificed time and hard work. Th ks, Bobbi, Vicki, K.K., Betty, Pat, Maggie, Sue, Rum, Anh, Margie, Jeannie, and Terry. Lest we forget, we also want to extend sincere appreciation to Mr. Thomas McCormick our respected source of "quotable quotes" who shared something more than words with us, and last but not least, our designer extraordinaire, Mr. Frank X. Smith, who guided our endeavors throughout the year. In closing if we have offended anyone by failing to mention their names, we truly apologize for the oversight; it was not intentional. Sincerely,

CO-EDITORS

Look Back When I look back On days gone by

I'l remember

not to cry,

Because you taught me

Not to be afraid

Of life which cradles Pleasure even in sorrow;

This is my memory For tomorrow:

Not to regret

My yesterdays. Patricia Williams
