English Speaking Union Competition
Year 11 students; Martha Pearce, Artemis Sershi and Maisie Russell represented Holyport College in the Regional English Speaking Union on Monday.
The competition was tough, but our girls did brilliantly, impressing the judges on many levels. Artemis as Chair for her group did a fantastic job of hosting the Speaker from Wellington College and our excellent Questioner; Martha Pearce gave some thought-provoking questions to consider on the topic; "We should cancel Cancel Culture”.
Maisie Russell did a great job as Speaker in her group on the topic; "Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated".
Unfortunately we only marginally lost out on second place which would have seen us progress to the next round. Nonetheless, the girls are to be commended on how well they represented Holyport College and their incredible preparation for the event.
