Minimalism and open-plan layouts have been popular trends in contemporary home design for many years now, with bathroom companies embracing this movement by offering wall-mounted fixtures, concealed storage solutions and floating vanities for a clutter-free ambience. Fussy hardware has become less fashionable and, instead, sleek faucets, handle-less cabinets and hidden drawer pulls all help to create a modern look. Neutral and earthy colour palettes, together with natural materials such as stone, marble and wood, are seen more than ever in contemporary-style bathrooms, and understandably so as nature always provides a feeling of purity and serenity – ideal for creating a spa-like bathroom environment and bringing the outdoors into the home. Instead of a bathroom being just a functional space, the lines are blurred between its own design and that of the rest of the home, by making the bathroom a more welcoming and relaxing space to enjoy with the addition of chandeliers, wallpapers, armchairs and wardrobes, for example. There is no reason why your design style has to stop at the bathroom door. Creating a sense of continuity throughout your home that also includes your bathrooms will pay off in the overall aesthetic. This harmonious wellness space was created using high-quality materials from Modulnova’s Skill range, with every detail meticulously thought-out and materials cut to the utmost precision. The project was completed in collaboration with City Stone Brown stoneware, chosen for the surface and used on the boiserie and shower floor. The extra-clear glass in the shower and large backlit mirror give the room a sense of openness and space, reflecting natural light. The Skill range is further enhanced by their new Board element, which is made up of advanced stoneware panels that provide cabinetry for superlative organisation.
