THE BARCELONA EDITION

LUXURY LIFESTYLE BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN THE HEART OF THE CITY CENTRE

One of Barcelona city’s iconic boutique hotels re-opened in late-spring and is once again welcoming guests taking advantage of Spain’s eased restrictions for international tourists. The Barcelona Edition is known for offering a luxurious and personalised five-star experience enhanced by a timelessly elegant hotel design. The hotel is superbly located in the city’s former mediaeval El Born area, next to the Picasso Museum and Barcelona Gothic Cathedral, adjacent to the Santa Caterina Market and just steps away from Plaça de Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia and Barceloneta beach. More than 15 popular Barcelona sights and historic landmarks are within walking distance of The Barcelona Edition which, as the hotel notes, means guests can “avoid the need for any transportation while discovering Barcelona’s best-kept secrets”. The hotel comprises 100 stylish and sophisticated rooms and suites with custom-made Le Labo bathroom

amenities. Some of the rooms enjoy breathtaking views over the Santa Caterina Market roof, which is considered an architectural masterpiece; and there are also multiple connecting rooms for family travel. Each of the 100 rooms is decorated with walnut panelling, evocative of the shutters that dominate the Old Town’s narrow street façades, and floors made of fresh whitened oak herringbone parquet. The beds offer a cosy welcome with imported luxury Italian linens and custom-designed furniture covered in carefully selected fabrics, including embossed Spanish leather headboards; and the bathrooms are finished in white Sivec marble detailed with contrasting brass hardware. For the ultimate in luxury, two exclusive penthouse suites offer guests private panoramic terraces and elegantly furnished lounge areas for chilling out and al fresco dining while admiring Barcelona’s famous skyline. The hotel’s gastronomic options include the Bar Veraz and The Roof rooftop terrace. Located on the 10th floor, The Roof is a Mediterranean-style oasis open for all-day dining and drinks, with an outdoor plunge pool and verdant garden ambience, and serving Asian street food cuisine. On the ground floor, the Bar Veraz offers a new menu this summer, which guests can savour in a revamped outdoor terrace area while taking in the views through floor-to-ceiling windows and contemplating an enormous, double-height central bar with 410 bottles of liqueurs illuminated by twilight ambient lighting.
