Living Rooms: cosy comfort
INSPIRATION FOR YOUR LOUNGE
Your living room is not just a space for relaxing, watching television and reading a book – it is also a place where you entertain guests and showcase your personal design statement. Making this space an area where you want people to feel welcome and to create a wow-factor (while also being practical) can be quite a challenge when you have to consider the overall layout… but it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Ensuring there is plenty of space for people to walk comfortably around the room – with cosy seating and tables close by for resting glasses, plus a few pouffes in case unexpected guests arrive – is a good recipe for creating the perfect environment for entertaining guests. If you want to make a design statement, a bold armchair, art piece or rug – or even a large vase exploding with seasonal blooms – will make a huge difference to the aesthetics, and will offer a special and personal design expression to anyone who enters the room. The recent trend in living room sofas and chairs is highlighted by chunky and curvy seating in soft upholstered fabrics featuring textures in calming tones that welcome you into the space. Keep your living room uncluttered so it is easy on the eye and you and your guests can feel superlatively uplifted and relaxed in the area when you all come together in your home.
