LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR SEASON CONCLUDES AT ANANTARA VILLA PADIERNA PALACE

The 2023 Ladies European Tour season came to a captivating conclusion at Anantara Villa Padierna Palace in Benahavís. Played at the resort’s Alferini Golf course, the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España was not only the last event of the year but also the decider for “Race to Costa del Sol” honours for the highest ranked players in 2022. Only two, Sweden’s Linn Grant and Maja Stark, had a chance of finishing number one going into the tournament, and it was 23-year-old Grant, also the 2022 “Rookie of the Year” after winning four times, who prevailed with a superb final day eight-under 65 to secure third place at Alferini Golf. The tournament itself was won by another Swede, 33-year-old Caroline Hedwell, who was seeking her first victory in four years. After finishing level with Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux at the end of 72 holes, she triumphed on the fourth extra hole of sudden-death. Ireland’s Leona Maguire was fourth, and England’s Alice Hewson and Spanish amateur Cayetana Fernandez were joint fifth.

ANOTHER INCREDIBLE YEAR FOR SALA GROUP’S GOLF COMPETITION

The 2022 Sala Golf season has now concluded after another incredibly successful year. The organisers have thanked all golfers taking part, for their ongoing support to the Sala Group and, more importantly, to the year-long competition’s special cause, The Elena Gaite Foundation. In 2022, the Sala Group Golf Classic was played at a series of top Costa del Sol clubs, including classic favourites and some newer and more challenging courses. The line-up of courses for this year is just as impressive, with the 2023 competition starting on 21 January at Alcaidesa and concluding on 9 December at Los Flamingos (Villa Padierna). A prize-giving is held at one of Sala Group’s venues following each competition, with complimentary canapés and drinks and superb prizes. www.salagroupgolf.com

LAVISH EVENT AT EICHHOLTZ MARBELLA TO PRESENT PHILIPP PLEIN HOME COLLECTION

In collaboration with Eichholtz (a leader in the high-end furniture industry) and Zambaiti Parati (a historical Italian brand specialising in international wallpaper covers), the new collection features a unique lifestyle concept. Offering the highest premium materials – rich in details of bold colours and strong iconic prints – is a key ingredient for the most glamorous and unconventional home projects.
