Top Exterior Colors If you have a modern home and you are looking for a new coat of fresh paint to be added to your house, you need some modern colors. Most people are going to tell you what I am going to tell you; neutrals are the way to go. This doesn’t necessarily mean all white though, or white at all, it can mean browns, blues, tans, some greens, grays, even black’s work in this instance. Below, you will find some of the top schemes for modern homes. Hopefully this will give you some ideas or help inspire your own ideas. Two Tone Olive If

you have a home that has a lot of earthy colors surrounding it i.e.; trees, grass, brush, etc. it’s a cool idea to add likeminded colors like that to your home because it helps tie everything together. For this specific scheme we will be using Gloucester Sage (HC-100) and Dakota Woods Green (2139-20). The first color is used on the base of the house, while the second color is used on the trim. Surprisingly, this home only has two colors, when many times you see most homes have 3 or more colors. The front door on this home is technically the third color, but it’s not paint you see, it’s a yellow orange stained wood door. Personally I wouldn’t usually like a yellow orange stained door, but in this case it looks really good because as mentioned the home has a lot of greenery and it helps balance it out. Straw and Sage When a home has a balanced look, it always helps provide attractive curb appeal to the home. A neutral shade like straw has a really welcoming and inviting look to it, while something like sage green for the accents makes it look livelier - the sage green also goes on the accent and any features on the house to help create a really classic look and feel to the home. This pallet can be used for both traditional and modern homes. Putty and Gray Two of the top colors this year are putty and gray so it’s no surprise that this is a popular color this year as well. For the body of the house, you would use the putty color and then for the trim and accents use the gray color. This allows the home to look unique enough to stand out among all the other houses on the block, but it’s not too crazy of a scheme to make people think you were crazy to paint it that color i.e.; neon green doors are not

found in this scheme! This is a really simple scheme, and yet really outstanding in terms of style. Also, this too can be used for traditional or modern homes. Gray and Blue Schemes This has a very neat look to it. Instead of using the blue as a base paint, you are going to be using the gray paint as a body it’s a very light paint, but the blue shutters, door and trim goes really well with it and complements it in a way no other color could. The two colors used here are SherwinWilliams's Comfort Gray (SW 6205) and Rain (SW 6219). These two colors help bring a really sophisticated and classy color scheme and Sherwin-Williams's Comfort Gray (SW 6205) and Rain (SW 6219).would also go really well in areas where you might have sand or the sand and sea because the colors work really well with those natural colors like green sea grass, sand, blue skies and the ocean, etc.
