Top Kitchen Colors for Men Kitchens tend to be one of those places we spend a lot of time, even as a man, even if you aren’t really into cooking. I’m sure you have breakfast in the morning, make coffee, sit down to read the paper or watch the news, maybe even entertain on the weekends or have the guys come over for a football game, etc. The kitchen is one of, if not THE most used room in a home, so when it comes to colors, its important you pick the right colors and the right theme to go with your style - decoration wise and personality wise. If you plan on painting your kitchen in the near future, and you are a man who is conscious about how important colors really are in a room, continue to read below for my pick of the top 4 best colors to use in a kitchen. All of these colors are Benjamin Moore paints, so you know they are going to be quality paints, at a fair price. Most all of them can be found at your local Home Improvement Paint Center. Even if you like the descriptions below and you like the paint chips but you still aren’t sure about the actual color being on something like a wall, do yourself a favor buy a small can of it and paint a small piece of wood. Hang it on the wall in your kitchen and look at it from different angles, in different lighting, etc. to see if you Really love it or not. Turquoise - Benjamin Moore Aruba Blue 2048-30 This is one of those colors that is very different, but tends to be overwhelming if put on too many walls. Instead, I would suggest this be used as an accent wall or something like a hutch. This is a very vibrant and bold shade of turquoise (blue) but it also has a sense of green as well, which offers a modern, yet classical twist on the original turquoise color. This is also one of those colors that looks fantastic with silver, stainless steel or chrome, so if your kitchen has or will have appliances, hardware and a fridge in one of those three materials, this is going to be a great color. This color also goes really well with high gloss black in terms of woodwork and trim, something else to consider and factor in to your kitchen plans. Tan - Benjamin Moore Camel Back 1103
Super color, I absolutely love this tone. At one point or another you probably either had a camel hair coat or know of someone that had it. Camel hair is one of those colors that is very flattering in terms of color because it’s that sort of tannish Carmel color; it’s warm, not overbearing, and this one could definitely be used on all four walls of your kitchen. This camel tan color has a tinge of underlying red and yellow, and has some actual feel to it. It’s not beige. Far from it. Beige can sometimes be boring, cold, or even make a room seem depressing. This is not what Benjamin Moore Camel Back 1103 does at all for a room. This color looks really good with blues and reds as well, so if you have an accents in the room, wood trim, chair rails, art work, or anything else, make sure you paint it red or blue, or get some artwork with flecks of red and blue in it. Blue - Benjamin Moore Midnight Navy 2067-10 Ask any man what his favorite color is, and chances are 9 times out of 10, he will say blue! I don’t blame them, blue is a great color that comes in all sorts of hues and shades, and it has a certain sense of mystery to it depending on the shade. This specific blue, Benjamin Moore Midnight Navy 2067-10, has a very cool, calming and yet mysteriousness about it. Blue is also one of those fantastic colors that looks amazing with brushed metallic like silver, chrome, or stainless steel. Almost any other color goes with blue too, which is why it’s considered a limitless color, it just depends again, on the shade and hue you choose from. For this specific blue; yellows, reds, white, blacks and even grays are going to go really well with it. Sandy Tan Benjamin Moore Soft Pumpkin 2166-40 When most men think of paint colors on their walls, they don’t think of going to the store to buy "Pumpkin" paint, let alone "soft pumpkin" paint, but give this one a chance. I once saw this in a kitchen in Florida. The homeowners did a complete remodel from that tacky white walls and pastel colors trend that happened around 20 years ago. Personally, I hated that trend and I am glad it’s not as trendy anymore. Anyway, the homeowners wanted something new, refreshing and different nothing to do with pastels, but since they lived close to the beach and it was Florida, they decided to go with a really pretty blue color for accents, black, white and of course Benjamin Moore Soft Pumpkin 2166-40. This isn’t tan, it’s not yellow or goldenrod, it’s
something else altogether, but it matches perfectly with that whole Floridian theme. Definitely a good option for people in the same boat - living in a state or a location where sand is plentiful.
