Home is no ordinary show, and I’m delighted to report that our pioneering event returns this January with one of the most comprehensive collections of design-led homeware and interior accessories ever presented at a UK trade show. What is more, the majority of exhibitors are exclusive to Home, which really does make it an event you can’t afford to miss. With a comprehensive selection of design styles, from modern to vintage, utility to classic and a truly diverse product range, including furniture, lighting, soft furnishings and more housewares than ever before, a visit to Home is sure to get your year off to the best possible start. In fact, with record numbers of international exhibitors, you no longer have to travel overseas to discover the best of what Europe has to offer.
This preview presents just a small selection of the new products and exhibitors to whet your appetite. At the show you will find even more products to inspire and delight from over 250 carefully chosen suppliers including major international brands, established favourites and exciting newcomers, all chosen for the quality, originality and commercial appeal of their products. Better still, with perennial buyers’ favourite Top Drawer next door and our exciting new-launch CRAFT alongside (a rare trade peek of covetable one-offs from a highly collectable selection of designermakers) you will find irresistible products that sell, at prices that work from well over 1000 companies at our carefully curated and beautifully presented events this January. So please, browse, enjoy, visit our website, plan your journey and book your ticket today. I look forward to seeing you in January. Ian Rudge Brand Director, Top Drawer, Home and Craft

TREND PREVIEW WHAT EMILIO SAW: TREND PREVIEW HOME 2014
A key destination for in the know editors and buyers, HOME’s designled mix of classic and modern brands offers a unique opportunity for early trend-spotting.
Globe-trotting Editor, Interiors Stylist and Video Blogger Emilio Pimentel-Reid gains exclusive access and previews key trends at the UK’s definitive homewares and accessories show.
The first show of the European season is the event to shop and be inspired by the latest interior products from the UK and beyond.
FLORAL On a prettier note, florals are given a relaxed contemporary edge. Abigail Ryan’s first fabric yardage collection includes the graphic ‘Cosmo’ and ‘Rose’ designs available in ‘Powderpuff, ‘Margarita, ‘Maraschino and the standout ‘Rose Flamingo’. At Laura Loves the delicate ‘Freya Lace’ handmade silk cushion reveals the trend’s softer but very modern vide. Known for her painterly style, don’t miss artist Fi Douglas’ new Bluebellgray ceramics collection for ITTC which blooms with signature flowers for the kitchen and table.
In 2014 strong categories include textiles, tableware, lighting, furniture, glassware/ceramics and kitchenware -sharing a considered approach to design, attention to craftsmanship and often a dash of humour.

WARM METALLICS
BLACK AND WHITE
The importance of brass, copper and bronze continues with the metals being most successfully used when paired with other materials. In an exciting year for lighting Plumen’s copper drop cap pendant set is tailor-made to complement the glass tubes of their iconic 001 bulb. A dramatic mix of metallic vases and pots in antiqued and polished finishes at Broste Copenhagen creates a textured effect. Another standout is A.U. Maison’s nesting tables. Copper tops sit on delicate iron frames making this simple yet elegant table perfect on its own or grouped to make an eye-catching coffee table..
Bold designs in black and white are strong this season. The secret to this trend is playing with scale and pattern while keeping the palette monochromatic. Standouts include the new ‘Basalt’ ceramic collection by British designer Nick Munro and Hemingway Design’s ‘Lots of Pop Dots’ wall mural for Surface View. The cork-lidded ‘Leaning Tower of Pasta’ container inspired by the iconic building in Pisa by black + blum and the ‘Camera’ cutting board’ bring the trend into the kitchen. Gary Birks’ ‘Snakes Alive’ mug and Ham’s ‘Bouncing Rabbit’ screen print add a playful touch of animalia while keeping things graphic.

TREND PREVIEW PASTELS
SCULPTURAL UTILITARIAN
Evolving from the sweeter palette we’ve seen in previous seasons, pastels are given a more sophisticated feel by pairing them with grey, steel or a punchy colour accent. Ankarsrum ‘s ‘Original Kitchen Machine, a favourite mixer of Swedish cooks and presented at Hot Ideas is fashioned from sturdy chrome and steel which perfectly balances the pearl green base. Another Country’s ‘Soft Series’ weaves pinks, greens and greys in their ‘Small Green Cubes’ pattern and at Jansen + Co’s the ceramic and steel ‘Two Tier’ platter includes a sturdy beech wood plate. Designer Monika Lubkowska-Jonas’ new ‘Haze’ hand-decorated porcelain collection at LSA captures the trends upbeat sensibility.
Contemporary lifestyles demand furniture that is both functional and decorative. This trend is a nod to pieces that are well made and meant to be displayed. Garden Trading’s architectural raw oak’ Hambledon’ round dining table will never need a table cloth. Designed by Design Note studio, Seletti’s ‘Suburbia’ is a new interpretation of wall storage. The design allows you to play around with display objects to create the perfect arrangement. Lozi ‘s ‘Shelf’ draws influence from both organic and geometric shapes to create unique shelving by carefully shaping and bending wood – reducing the need for joints while enhancing the elegance of the design. Inspired by travel, Wayfarer’s ‘System-S ‘ stool is light, easily movable and precisely constructed.

RICH BLUES Covetable shades of blue and bluishgreens are popular in a range of materials and finishes. At Skandium, Alvar Aalto’s fluid new ‘Rain’ mouth blown glass vase for Iittala, plays with the colour’s translucency. Broste Copenhagen’s wood ‘Magni’, ‘Janis’ and ‘Dolls’ collections and the new ‘Soft Series’ jacquard woven wool fabrics by Ruth Duff for Another Country are brought to life by successfully combining and layering subtle hues. Hard to miss, Seletti’s playful porcelain with rubber paint finish ‘Submarino’ sets the tone for colourful bathroom fun.
