M/I HOMES TO HOST HOMESITE RELEASE EVENT IN ALLEN MILLS COMMUNITY M/I Homes will soon begin pre-selling its first 21 homesites in the Concord community of Allen Mills, a new community off Poplar Tent Road and Cox Mill Road. Due to high demand, M/I will host a homesite release event for the sites Sept. 19. Prospective buyers who attend the VIP event can learn more about the homesites and plans available, then be entered into a drawing. The first 21 people drawn can make appointments to choose their homesite and put down a deposit. Reservations are required to attend. The time and location will be provided upon registration. Allen Mills offers nine different ranch and two-story home plans with open kitchens, spacious family rooms and master bedrooms with walk-in closets. Prices start in the $300,000s. HOUSING OPPORTUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS $76,607 TO AREA NONPROFITS The Housing Opportunity Foundation, the charitable arm of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, awarded 17 area local nonprofits and seven area Habitat for Humanity agencies a total of $76,607.66 through the annual Realtor-directed Habitat Support and Community Grants Programs. This includes a $15,107.66 donation to A Child’s Place, raised during the foundation’s second annual Strides for Shelter 5K & Fun Run. The Community Grants Program supports area organizations that address unmet housing needs in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties, while the Habitat Support Program is a way to assist area Habitats that are meeting crucial housing needs for low-to-moderate income families. Since the inception of the Habitat Support Program 11 years ago and the Community Grants Program nine years ago, Realtor members have distributed a total of $383,107.66 to area organizations. The organizations were formally recognized by the Housing Opportunity Foundation, association and community leadership and supporting donors at the annual Opening Hearts, Opening Doors luncheon held on Sept. 6.
