A Dream Program Foster a Dream supports local foster youth in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their goal is to support and guide foster youth so that they can have a successful and productive transition into adulthood. They provide many programs and resources that build the hopes, dreams and futures of Bay Area foster children during their stay in the foster care system. One cause that Foster a Youth is passionate about is their “Wonderland” program. Each holiday 10,000 square feet of holiday festivities is provided through this magical event that services local foster children. Wonderland relies on the generosity of local volunteers who come together to support the foster children and make the holidays a joyous time.
Habitat for Humanity Teresa, her team, and many others from Dudum Real Estate Group worked the entire day along with Commerce Mortgage Group to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity. These houses, in Martinez, are for families with limited incomes. The two companies also donated $3000 that will be used towards purchasing building expenses. The subdivision they worked on will consist of 20 homes (3 and 4 bedrooms) and will create an opportunity for working families to experience home ownership.
Community Garage Sale As a way to reach out to people in the neighborhood where Teresa grew up, she and her team organized a community yard/garage sale. Anyone who wanted to participate could sell items and Teresa’s team did all of the advertising. A special thanks goes out to Robert Cooley, Sr. Loan Officer of Guild Mortgage and his lovely wife, Tracey, who helped out at this event. He brought doughnuts and coffee, and together they stopped at the homes of those participating in the six block area. This event was such a success, it has been requested they hold it annually.
