Why book a homestay... A homestay experience with London Homestays is the perfect way to improve your English while experiencing London life and British culture. Living as part of a British family, you will have an excellent opportunity to practice your English language ability while living in a friendly home environment. Whether you are talking about the news while eating an English breakfast, or discussing what to have for dinner while shopping, you will have many opportunities to practice speaking and listening to English. A friendly London Homestay’s host family will make you feel welcome and make the trip a lot less daunting. The host family can share local knowledge, suggest good places to visit for days out and is a friendly face at the end of each day whether you have been studying or sightseeing. At London Homestays, we understand that no two people are the same, we therefore take the utmost care in ensuring that every person staying in our accommodation is treated as an individual and that we match them with the accommodation that best suits them.

A range of meal plans to suit your needs... Self catering:

Choosing this option means the host will give the guest storage space in their kitchen and have access to the kitchen to cook their own meals. The host will not provide food for the guest.

Bed & Breakfast:

A continental breakfast is provided (not served) to the guests. This usually includes toast, jam, cereal, tea/coffee/ fruit juice. Guests are not generally permitted to use the kitchen to cook or store their own food. Some hosts permit light cooking if specifically arranged when booking.

London Zone 2 Zone 2 homestays are located in the first residential zone outside of central London (Zone 1 is mainly made up of tourist attractions, shops and businesses). As Zone 2 is very close to central London, many areas such as Camden, Finsbury Park or Clapham can be very lively, bustling with fashionable bars, restaurants and music venues. Other areas can be quieter, bohemian and literary, from the wonderful open spaces of Hampstead Heath to the fantastic river views of Putney. Hosts in Zone 2 usually work during the day and are at home in the evenings. Travelling from Zone 2 to central London on average takes between 25 and 40 minutes.

London Zone 3 Zone 3 homestays are located in safe, popular areas such as Ealing Broadway, Balham, Highgate and Golders Green, with great transport links in the districts that surround central London. These areas are often sought after by young families as they have the perfect blend of leafy suburban living, whilst not too far from the hustle and bustle of London.

London Zone 4/5 Zone 4/5 homestays are located in the suburban, residential areas that surround London, such as West Finchley, Southgate, Boston Manor and Wembley and therefore quieter and greener than the centre. Houses in Zones 4/5 are often larger and hosts usually have more time to spend with students than hosts in central London. Large shopping malls, sports fields and parks are usually within easy reach. This area is often dubbed the commuter belt as many workers travel to work in central London each day. Travelling time from Zone 4 to central London takes (on average) between 45 and 60 minutes, although some stations have express links making this journey quicker.
