It has been a rough couple of years for everyone, but
things are looking up. I love seeing full football stadiums, packed concerts and busy restaurants—things that I once took for granted but now appreciate more than ever. It’s also nice to see the convention circuit back in action.

Technology is nice, but I’m oldfashioned and don’t particularly like Zoom meetings or reporting on new tools and home technologies from a long distance away.
We launched Home Improvement and Repairs magazine at the 2020 International Builder’s Show—the largest light construction show in the world and the best place to get up close with all things new in home construction. Then—bam!— word of a pandemic spread like wildfire and the world went into lockdown. No more conventions. Until now.
Luckily, I’m looking forward to a big step back toward normalcy: attending our first convention since the emergence of the ‘Rona. Our team will soon be heading to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the 2021 National Hardware Show. The NHS is an enormous trade show where tool and equipment companies unveil the new products that will soon stock the aisles of your local hardware store. The HIR staff normally attends every year to check out thousands of hardware, tool and lawn/garden products collected in one place. Last year’s show cancellation was the one exception in more than a decade. I’m happy to see the world now swinging back in the right direction.
And you can count on us to give you the scoop on all the action as soon as we return. Get ready for highlights of all the new tools and gadgets we find at the show, so you can write your Christmas list.
