Theatre 1
Written and performed by Rob Madge and directed by Luke Sheppard, the award-winning My Son’s A Queer, (But What Can You Do?) is back for 2024.
Once a cult sensation, Madge’s show has grown in stature to become WhatsOnStage Award winning and Olivier Award nominated and now due to public demand is set to embark on a brand new national tour visiting seven brand new venues. When Rob was 12, they attempted to stage a full-blown Disney parade in their house for their Grandma. As Rob donned a wig and played Mary Poppins, Ariel, Mickey Mouse and Belle, their Dad doubled as Stage Manager, Sound Technician and Goofy. Unfortunately, Dad missed all his cues and pushed all the floats in the wrong direction. Mum mistook Aladdin for Ursula. The costumes went awry and Ariel’s bubble gun didn’t work properly. Grandma had a nice time though.
My Son’s A Queer, (But What Can You Do?) celebrates the joy and chaos of raising a queer child and is testament to the power of unconditional familial love. Join social media sensation Rob Madge as they set out to recreate that parade and this time, nobody, no NOBODY is gonna rain on it!

Thu & Fri 19.30, Sat 14.00 & 19.30
In 1976, tired of the spotlight, John Lennon chose to be a stay-at-home dad to his baby son, Sean.
Paul McCartney was number one all over the world with his new band, Wings, and about to embark on a global tour.
Once inseparable, both men were now worlds apart.
Six years after the bitter break up of The Beatles, Paul paid a visit to John’s apartment in New York City. Unannounced.
It would be the final time they EVER met.
Two of Us ruminates on what may have happened. Truths that may have been spoken and traumas that may have been shared. Their apologies and eulogies, what was said and what was left unsaid.
It is the story of two working class boys who loved each other.

Breach Theatre presents After
the Act
Tue 12 – Sat 16 Nov
Tue & Wed, Fri & Sat 19.30
Thu 14.00 & 19.30
Theatre 1
After the Act is a new 1980’s-inspired musical about pride, protest…and abseiling lesbians.
Thatcher’s Section 28, which banned the “promotion” of homosexuality in schools, was the landmark legislation that silenced a generation, offered a global blueprint for LGBTQ+ oppression and galvanised a community.
After the Act is funny, camp and unapologetically queer but also a clear-eyed exposure of the political playbook used to enact repressive laws.
Its joyously exuberant original live score accompanies the inspiring,
sometimes heart-breaking, stories of teachers, students and activists impacted by the legislation. This is the story of how a moral panic gripped a nation – and a generation decided to fight back.
“Fizzing, fiery… This musical feels exceptional”

Written by Billy Barrett and Ellice Stevens
Directed by Billy Barrett
