OLIV ER ’ Santa s
Little Helper
To
OLIVER,
Love ....................................
Oliver’s got butterflies. The Christmas show’s today! He’s got the most important role – the helper for the play.
His friends lay out the costumes, while he checks the sound and lighting. And next they decorate the stage. This job is so exciting!
OLIVER’S PROP BOX
The audience is seated. The curtain starts to rise. Oliver takes a sneaky peek and sees ‌ two hundred eyes!
Everybody is on stage to sing the opening song.
Oliver starts a beat and everybody claps along.
The fairy can’t remember when to jump or pirouette.
Oliver dances in the wings so that she won’t forget!
A woolly cotton costume covers Oliver head-to-toe, so when he helps the snowman fly, he’s camouflaged as snow.
The drummers drum. The pipers pipe. The turtle doves are cooing.
R’S IVE OL D O TO ST LI
Poor Oliver can’t concentrate on anything he’s doing!
Oliver spots a problem: the maids’ milk has been dripping. He’d better clean the spillage up to stop the donkey slipping.
Oliver has a great idea, it’s really very neat. He sends some sheep onto the stage with mops upon their feet!
Then suddenly the stage goes dark. Did all the lightbulbs blow? Oliver finds the answer! His quick-thinking saves the show.
OLIVER’S THINGS
And now the grand finale: here comes Dasher, Dancer, Vixen, Prancer, Comet, Cupid, Donner ‌ and Oliver dressed as Blitzen!
It’s Santa’s turn to be on stage. He’s hiding out of sight.
OLIVER’S PROP BOX
Oliver holds his hand and says, “I know you’ll be all right!”
The show has been a huge success. The children all had fun. Oliver was amazing and looked after everyone!
Oliver spots his family, and they run into the crowd.
“You are Santa’s Little Helper and you make us all so proud.”
Oliver, draw yourself and your friends in a Christmas play, and then colour in the scene!
