From the President’s Desk

by Josh Beasley, President, Honest Abe Log Homes In 2014, Honest Abe Log Homes celebrated an ongoing legacy of 35 years building log and timber frame homes for clients all over the world. In 2015, we continue our celebration with a new beginning as we introduce our newly constructed sales model in Crossville, Tenn. The desire Napoleon Hill spoke of fueled the many years of serving customers in our past, and it now fuels the opportunities ahead. I think it is a basic desire we share with our clients. Building a new custom home is not necessarily easy or care-free. There are many easier options on the market to get into a home. For those of us with a true desire, the easy path does not detract us from our goal of one day owning a log or timber frame home.

We must have it. We must achieve. That is where Honest Abe can help. “Desire is the starting point of all Our goal is achievement, not a hope, not a wish, to make the but a keen pulsating desire which path easier, so transcends everything.” you can see – Napoleon Hill, American Author, that pulsating 1883-1970 desire become a reality. With our new model home in Crossville, it is our desire that it helps our clients envision possibilities and options when designing their own custom home. We’ve dedicated this issue of Honest Abe Living to showcasing what we have created there. Furthermore, stop by in person. We love showing people around.

Timber Frame Construction

Our Timber Frame System offers old-world country charm with superb flexibility to add color or decorative style to the interior.

Honest Abe Log Homes offers Timber Frame construction with exposed timbers on the interior, while allowing for the choice of using more common exterior finishes like conventional siding, brick or stone. The Sunroom at the new Honest Abe Model Home in Crossville is a perfect example. A timber frame home is a beautiful, economical and flexible choice for rustic living. Giving you the flexibility to design the kind of home you’ve always wanted, Honest Abe’s Timber Frame option brings the beauty of natural wood into your home’s interior. In the construction of our Timber Frame System, Honest Abe uses timeless construction methods to create a framework from 8”x 8” Douglas Fir vertical posts and horizontal beams. This “superstructure” is left exposed on the interior, while insulated wall panels sheath the exterior. The framework is pre-cut, numbered, packaged and delivered to the home site. Our Timber Frames feature large Douglas Fir timbers for the framework and “sandwich” wall panels made of sheetrock, insulation and exterior sheathing. Our attention to detail can be recognized through the quality of the craftsmanship. HonestAbe.com
