Life Insurance In general, a life insurance policy is a protection plan that ensures your financial future is secure for your family if something happens to you. It can help pay off debts, pay children school fess or simply maintain a standard of life for the loved ones left behind. In the event of a death your insurer will pay out a cash lump sum therefore allowing you to live with peace of mind. It can protect your home, business, income and family.
Critical Illness Critical illness is a life-threatening condition, which is generally strictly defined. Most critical illness policies provide for the payment of a lump sum benefit if the policyholder is diagnosed as suffering from one of a number of specified terminal illnesses. Depending on the policy selected, up to many dozen other conditions may also be covered. This is a complex level of cover and we believe it is imperative you get qualified advice because the criteria form all providers will vary.
Income Protection Income Protection insurance can provide a regular replacement income if someone is unable to work because of illness or injury. Typically, a policy pays out after they’ve been off work for a certain period (often called a deferred or waiting period) and can pay a percentage of their salary until either they return to work, reach State Pension Age, or if they die while claiming.
Mortgage Protection Mortgage Protection Insurance is designed to cover the cost of your remaining mortgage balance if the unexpected happen to you or your partner. In essence it is a decreasing term policy because the amount of cover reduces in line with the balance of your mortgage as you make monthly payments. In the event of a death of a policyholder a cash lump sum is paid out equivalent to the mortgage balance to ensure your loved ones can live mortgage free. Generally payments are slightly cheaper than level term cover to reflect the reduced risk.
Private Medical Insurance We know that choosing a health insurance policy can be difficult with so many options available in the marketplace and types of cover available. It is therefore vitally important you choose the correct level of cover and plan. At Cornerstone we will establish your precise needs and recommend a plan that is both affordable and relevant. Once you’re on cover you and can have peace of mind knowing that you and possibly your family are covered. Health insurance can be taken out by an employer to cover all employees, by a single person, couple or families. You can gain cover if your self-employed, a student or a busy professional.
