The site of the origional temple wtiich is going to be replaced by a modem one is located in the businest CBD in Yuzhong area in Chongqing. It is quite a narrow space shaded by other tall office buildings and is unique. The site is also close to commercial streets where most residenls like to take the subway to do shopping. Every noon and night, all these pedestrain streets are crowded with people,wtiich starts from the shopping centres to the temple site.Riverside

sightseeing areas are just on the north side, and if people stand on the upper floors of the temple they are able to enjoy these beautiful sceneries from a higher land. Therefore, new temple should be more accessible to the whole block as there will be a large number of constumers come by everyday.Besides, landscapes which are related to the riverbank should also be considered as important parts of it and shoiid be combined with more reigional arts.

The site is located in Tianjin university and quite close to the downtown area. It is inside an old neighborhood where the major residents are retired teachers and their relatives. Most of the residents have a very small living scope. During the daytime,they usually go downstairs and chat with neighbors in the park of block while doing some exercise or housework.

The whole roof is perfectly supported by six huge bionic tree pillars.Those tree pillars which play a role of structures also sit on the centres of six couryards. The ground floor is a boundless place where people from all ides can freely step in and choose their favourite courtyard to participate in activities. The space above the first floor is confined and built based on those courtyards.

That is the place library is settled. Compared with the ground floor, upper floors are much quieter. People who enter the library will walk through corridors around courtyard to pick up books while watching below. The buildings around were all built in 1970s. They are lack of facilities and public spaces,So the new library should be designed to meet various activity needs.

This is the daytime scenery from one courtyard in the library. People will pick their books in the courtyards and enjoy reading under the shadow of trees. Those huge trees which support the roof also light the room with beatiful views.

Hidden beams of the roof panel are all in the shape of circles.They form a frame of the beamless floor and let the sunshine come into the hollows projecting mottled shadow.

This design is a high-rise tower office building design, including basement, commercial podium and upper floor office, using the sunlight, wind and other analysis and calculations to determine the form and appearance of the tower, and use the vertical space on the east and west to make a vertical green belt, connecting the urban landscape and pedestrian walkway, so that the green belt inside the tower becomes a vertical continuation of city.
