Increased cardholders with hoopla-library partner campus event. The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County partnered with hoopla for a two-day Millennial outreach event, on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. hoopla reserved an area within a bustling Student Union full of UC students and visitors coming and going in between classes. Library staff brought pre-activated library cards to circumvent the need and time of dialing into their ILS remotely. This allowed for curious students to register for both a new library card and for hoopla, via iPads manned by hoopla staff, in minutes. The library staff commented on how it was so exciting to witness a new cardholder immediately begin browsing the

library’s digital collection, with many even borrowing their first album or film on the spot before walking away with a hoopla-branded aluminum tumbler. Overall, it was a very busy and beneficial day for both the library and hoopla digital. The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County signed up 175 brand new library cardholders at the two-day event. hoopla registered over 200 new users to enjoy simultaneous use, no holds, and immediately available content for this youthful and typically hard-to-reach age group. Please contact your hoopla representative to learn more about planning an event for your library system.
