The Garden Project - Teacher's Manual

Sustainable Learning following Nature's Life Cycle

The Garden Project is the first Project Based Learning (PBL) curriculum to apply the STEAM framework to explore nature's life cycle, from seed to table to seed again, in an innovative multidisciplinary exploration of nature. Starting at age 3yrs+.

Nurture a connection with nature when it matters the most: the Early Years.

“Environmental education at the early childhood level has the potential for greatly enhancing the development of the young child as it fosters an appreciation of beauty and diversity and fosters growth in all the developmental domains (i.e., physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual). Involvement with the natural environment stimulates the senses, fosters observational and critical thinking skills, provides innumerable topics for conversation, invites physical manipulation, and stimulates the imagination and sense of wonder... Environmental education at the early childhood level has the potential for developing an environmentally concerned citizenry that will relate to the earth in a more harmonious way than that of the present generation.” (Ruth Wilson)

The Garden Project gives children the space and time to observe the little things nature has to offer, that are often overlooked, yet the building blocks of everything. This is why our nature exploration starts from the exploration of seeds.

Key scientific concepts linked to the natural world are collected, recorded and shared on the Student Journals, an integral part of the project. Children are encouraged to develop their own investigations as they familiarize themselves with the content.
