With the rapid growth in attendees and exposure, this year’s conference is especially exciting. Along with the growth in size, the scope of this year’s conference has expanded beyond a career entry focus. We are really excited to partner with Babson College, the #1 Business School in the world, and offer you incredible insight from the top sports industry leaders on broadcasting and media, footwear and apparel, front office team operations and groundbreaking technologies used within the sports industry. Moderator: Anthony Everett Award Winning News Anchor, WCVB Anthony Everett is the Emmy Award-winning anchor of WCVB-TV Channel 5’s nightly newsmagazine, “Chronicle.” He has also served as co-anchor of NewsCenter 5 at 5, 5:30, 6 and 11PM. Everett has served as WCVB’s senior correspondent for major national events and breaking news. He has received numerous awards including National Headliner Awards, multiple Emmy awards, and a Massachusetts Broadcasters Association First Place award for spot news coverage. Everett’s dedication to charitable organizations is commendable especially with his dedication as an advocate, volunteer and board member for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; Everett was honored with the Public Education Award in 1992, and in 2006 received one of the Society’s highest honors, the Partners in Progress Award. Everett is a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, MA where he serves as a guest lecturer in their Communication and Media Studies Program. He resides outside of Boston with his wife and their two children.

Emily Unruh Vice President, Major League Soccer Emily Unruh currently serves as the Vice President for the Retail Division for Major League Soccer. Emily has been a force in the retail industry for the past ten years. She has held such executive positions as the Senior Director for Retail Development for the NBA and Manager of Licensing for the NBA. Emily’s expertise in this sector of the sports business is second to none. Emily currently resides in New York City.

Austin Ainge Director of Player Personnel, Boston Celtics Austin Ainge enters his second season with the Celtics as the team’s Director of Player Personnel. Ainge rejoined the organization after spending two seasons as the Head Coach of the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League (2009-11). Ainge previously worked for the team during the 2008-09 season as a scout. Ainge has previously worked at Southern Utah University where he was responsible for perimeter players, recruiting, player development, video breakdown, and developing game plans. Before coaching he had a very successful playing career at Brigham Young University, where he was a two-year captain and won 2 Mountain West Conference Championships. While at BYU Austin went to 3 NCAA tournaments and one NIT. Before playing at BYU, Austin put his basketball career on hold and served a two-year mission for his church, living in and serving the communities in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic where he learned to speak fluent Spanish. Austin is married to the former Crystal Bluth and has two sons, Andre and Finley.

Robin Boudreau Vice President of Human Resources, The Kraft Group Robin Boudreau, is the Vice President of Human Resources for the Kraft Group LLC. Robin oversees a 28 person human resource team that provides leadership development, talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, benefits, payroll, and diversity initiatives. The Human Resource Team supports the Kraft Group which is a holding company with 5,000 employees and businesses operating in over 80 countries that includes interest in Sports & Entertainment, Paper & Packaging, Professional Services, Real Estate Development and Philanthropy. Robin spent 23 years employed by Filene’s Department Stores, a division of May Department Stores, with revenues of $30 billion, and progressed through various positions with increasing responsibility. #STConference15

Moderator: Liz Brunner Liz Brunner is the CEO and founder of Brunner Communications. Leveraging more than 25 years of media and communications experience, expertise, and leadership, Brunner is sought by high-profile individuals and organizations to build meaningful reputations within their markets. She conducted exclusive one-on-one interviews with prominent figures, ranging from professional athletes to global political leaders, including President Barack Obama. Recognized as one of the nation’s most accomplished journalists, Brunner’s distinguished approach of educating and communicating information to viewers has yielded countless industry awards and earned her a devoted following.

Jackie MacMullan Analyst and Commentator ESPN Jackie MacMullan is a television analyst for ESPN and Comcast Sports Net and a columnist for ESPNBOSTON.com. As a previous columnist and associate editor of the Boston Globe and senior writer for Sports Illustrated, MacMullan is easily the most celebrated female sports journalist of our time. A two-time New York Times Bestselling Author, MacMullan has won several national writing and women’s leadership awards and been inducted into multiple Halls of Fame including the New England Basketball Hall of Fame, the Institute of Sport in Society, the New Fund Hall of Fame and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. MacMullan is a cum laude graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she played four years of basketball and was inducted into the University of New Hampshire’s Hall of Honor in 2001. MacMullan has received many awards for her charitable work on behalf of Huntington’s Disease, the Tewksbury Hospital, the Dorchester Boys and Girls Club, the New England Hemophilia Association, and Shooting Touch. In addition to her duties at ESPN as the only female panelist on Around the Horn, MacMullan is a regular contributor to WHDH-TV (Channel 7) and WEEI radio.

David Gross

Commissioner, Major League Lacrosse David Gross joined Major League Lacrosse’s front office as its Chief Operating Officer in December of 2003. Prior to that, Gross was named Vice President & General Manager of the Boston Cannons before their inaugural season in 2001. After leading that organization for three years, Gross transitioned to the League office as COO, and was subsequently named the League’s first ever Commissioner in 2004. As Commissioner, Gross is responsible for the League’s strategic planning, growth and overall operations. Commissioner Gross also maintains an active schedule outside of Major League Lacrosse volunteering his time with local youth sports programs, conducting speaking engagements at collegiate business and marketing seminars, and was recently named to the Boston Chapter Board of the National Sports Marketing Network. Gross lives in Medfield, Massachusetts with his family.

Founded in 2007 by Lindsey and Justin Kittredge, Shooting Touch is a global NGO that increases access to health education and social development opportunity for youth from under-resourced areas of the world through the platform of basketball. Domestically, Â Shooting Touch has established a year-round presence and program in Boston that provides inner city and suburban youth with opportunities for development, both on and off the court. Shooting Touch has recently launched a sport based youth development pilot program - G3 Boston: Getting Girls in the Game - focusing on providing Boston middle school females an opportunity to use basketball as a tool to learn health education, leadership and social development.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: “3 Sets That Will Determine Your Success” 1:00pm–1:30pm Kevin Eastman Vice President of Basketball Operations, LA Clippers Kevin Eastman was raised in Haddonfield, New Jersey, and attended the University of Richmond, where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He was a scholarship student-athlete at Richmond, and in recognition of his unique qualities as a basketball player, the University created the Kevin Eastman Award. The award, which has been awarded just five times in program history, is given to a player that exemplifies the qualities of team leadership, dedication, and outstanding play. Eastman was inducted into the Hall of Fame at both Haddonfield Memorial High School and the University of Richmond. After college, Kevin played briefly for an AABA professional team, and then continued his love of basketball through coaching. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, University of Richmond in 1978 and spent eight seasons as an assistant coach at the collegiate level including VCU, Colorado State, and Tulsa. In addition, he was head coach at Belmont Abbey for three years, Washington State for five years, and UNC Wilmington for four years. In 2000, Kevin created Kevin Eastman Basketball Camps, llc (KEB) with a mission to provide quality teaching and skill development in a more intense environment than many youth camps. KEB offered skill development camps for ten years, and has now grown to include instructional video, coaching clinics and other events. Kevin Eastman Basketball continues to be recognized as offering the best in individual skill development, motivation, career enhancement, and how to teach the game. In addition to operating KEB, Kevin began serving as Nike Basketball’s National Director of Player Development for the nation’s elite college and high school players. This relationship with Nike began in 2003 and continues today through Nike Skills Academies and as a regular speaker to Nike audiences. Eastman joined the Celtics coaching staff for the 2004-05 as an assistant coach under Doc Rivers. In 2008, the Celtics were NBA World Champions, and in 2010, the Celtics reached the NBA Finals under their leadership. Eastman also coached in two prestigious NBA All-Star games featuring the best NBA (2008 and 2010). Kevin was with Coach Rivers in Boston for 9 seasons and in 2013 moved with Doc to the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2013-14 season. In June 2014, Eastman was promoted to Vice President of Basketball Operations. In 2008, Eastman developed the concept of Coaching U LIVE, a unique coaching event for coaches. In addition to Eastman and Brendan Suhr, the co-founders, Coaching U LIVE brings in other NBA coaches and well-known experts in basketball, leadership and motivation to speak to coaches of all levels. Now in its sixth year, Coaching U LIVE is gaining the reputation as the most educational and informative coaching event in the country. Eastman is an internationally known basketball clinician who brings his knowledge and experiences in the sports world to the corporate world. He has spent the last several off-seasons speaking to corporate audiences on topics including world championship culture, teamwork, motivation and success. Kevin and his wife Wendy, who serves as Vice President for KEB, have a son Jake who played college basketball and graduated from Bradley University. Jake has recently joined the basketball operations staff with the Boston Celtics. #STConference15

Panel Three: Sports Entrepreneurship

1:30pm–2:30pm Moderator: Justin Kittredge CEO & Founder, ISlide As Founder, CEO and President of ISlide and Co-Founder of global non-profit organization, Shooting Touch, Justin’s entrepreneurial passion and energy is incredible and felt by all who come before him. Justin spent 15 years working in the athletic footwear industry, most recently as the Director of Basketball Product Division at Reebok. Justin and his team worked to create, market, and sell NBA basketball shoes throughout the US and abroad. In January 2013, Justin left Reebok to start ISlide, a custom athletic footwear company. The company launched in August of 2013 and is already garnering the attention and support of big and small box retailers around the country. In 2010, Justin was also the Guinness World Records holder for the most completed basketball free throws in two minutes. Justin is a graduate from Northfield Mt. Hermon School and James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Justin is married to Lindsey Kittredge and father of two wonderful little girls.

Trish Kennedy Co-Founder, Zudy Software, Back Office Solutions, and Sports Money A lifelong sports fan, Trish Kennedy was disheartened to learn that every four hours, a professional athlete goes broke. Using their vast business and life experience, Trish, and her husband Tom, founded SportsMoney with the sole purpose of reversing this trend and ensuring athletes and their families have the tools, knowledge and advice to ensure sustainable, lifelong incomes. Trish serves as SportsMoney’s CEO, directing all aspects of the company’s operations. Prior to SportsMoney, Trish co-founded, built and sold two successful software companies. Most recently transforming BackOffice Associates LLC from a two-person company into a global software and services organization with a staff of 500 worldwide. A lifelong entrepreneur and the mother of four boys, Trish has dedicated her life to helping people in many ways including extensive philanthropic work with local school sports programs, scholarships, ALS, Alzheimer’s, and is a partner with the Patriots Charitable Foundation. Trish is active on many Boards in and around Massachusetts.

Todd Ramasar Managing Partner, Stealth Sports As Managing Partner for Stealth Sports, Ramasar is responsible for the basketball segment of his sports marketing agency. Stealth is a leader in integrating consultancy, sports media and entertainment business, with senior level sports, marketing, sponsorship , and brand experience across those industries. As a life-long entrepreneur, Ramasar was the Founding Partner of Life Sports Management, and Co-Founder of The China Branding Group. Ramasar has also been the Vice President of Player Representation of BDA Sports.

Jonathan Mugar Founder, The Basketball Tournament Jon Mugar created The Basketball Tournament, an annual, open-application, winner take all, 5-on-5 tournament for $1 million. Teams form themselves on TheTournament.com, fans vote them in and the two finalists play August 2nd for $1 million on ESPN. The event launched in 2014 as a 32-team, single-elimination event for $500,000, which was won by the Notre Dame Fighting Alumni. Prior to starting The Basketball Tournament, Mr. Mugar served as a comedy producer and writer for Abso Lutely Productions. While at Abso Lutely, he worked on several shows for Cartoon Network, IFC, Comedy Central, and HBO, in addition to a feature film. Before moving to Los Angeles, he graduated from the Second City Training Center in Chicago and wrote, directed, and/or produced six stage revues. #STConference15

Brad Stevens Head Coach, Boston Celtics Brad Stevens is the 17th head coach in the history of the Boston Celtics. Stevens, 36, joined the Celtics after coaching Butler University where he boasted a 166-49 record, four league regular season championships, three league tournament titles and six trips to postseason tournament play. He has the top two single season win totals in Butler and Horizon League history, and he became the only coach in school history to lead a team to the NCAA Division I national championship game. Stevens owns two Horizon League Coach of the Year awards and has rewritten the NCAA record book for Best Coaching Starts by Wins. Stevens earned a B.A. degree in economics from DePauw in 1999. He was a four-year member of the basketball team at DePauw, earning the squad’s “Coach’s Award” in 1998-99. He and his wife, Tracy, have two children, son Brady and daughter Kinsley.

Barbara Stevens Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Bentley University Of all the people to coach women’s basketball at the Division II level, no one has recorded more victories than Bentley’s Hall of Fame coach, Barbara Stevens. And only four coaches in the history of women’s college basketball, in any division, have more victories. Stevens has received multiple honors, including the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, the New England Basketball Hall of Fame, and the Clark and Bridgewater State Hall of Fame Carol Eckman Award from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Stevens traveled to France and Israel as an assistant coach for the USA Select Team and in 1993, she was an assistant coach for the West team at the U.S. Olympic Festival. She resides in Waltham.

Steve Pagliuca Co-Owner, Boston Celtics Steve joined Bain Capital in 1989 as a Managing Director. Bain Capital is a private investment company with over $70- billion in assets. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Steve was a Vice President at Bain & Company where he managed client relationships in the information services and healthcare industries. Steve was also involved in developing Bain & Company’s turnaround practice. Steve is Co-Owner of the World Champion NBA Boston Celtics and Chair of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. He is also active with several other non-profits and has served on the boards of many major multi-national corporations. Steve and his wife Judy have four children. @ShootingTouch

9:15am–10:15am Moderator: Cheryl Kiser Executive Director, The Lewis Institute As the Executive Director of The Lewis Institute for Social Innovation and The Babson Social Innovation Lab, Cheryl is responsible for leading a critical aspect of the growth strategy for Babson by promoting broad support for Babson’s work in integrating social innovation and social entrepreneurship into its curriculum and co-curricular activities. Before coming to Babson, Cheryl was the Managing Director of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, and a leading voice in the U.S. on the role of business in society. With a graduate degree from Boston College in community organization and social policy and planning, Cheryl has always been at the intersection of public policy, private enterprise and community. A passionate natural food advocate, Cheryl is also the co-creator of Food Sol, an “action tank” at Babson’s Social Innovation Lab dedicated to using entrepreneurship to redesign the food system. Cheryl is married to David Kiser and has two children, Ross and Kenna.

Lindsey Kittredge

Robert Lewis President, The Base As President & Founder of both The BASE and The Boston Astros, Robert Lewis, Jr. is a seasoned civic, community and non-profit leader who has dedicated his life to making a difference in his hometown, the city of Boston. Most recently, Robert was Vice President at The Boston Foundation where he directed the distribution of $16 million+ in discretionary grants. While there, Robert was chief architect of two important initiatives: StreetSafe Boston which has a mission to dramatically reduce gun violence and CHAMPS Boston which promotes positive youth development through sports. Robert is a highly sought after public speaker and facilitator on the topic of urban issues, working with foundations, non-profits and government and civic across the country. His reach extends beyond the U.S. where he advised The Minister of Defense of Bermuda as well as Prime Minister David Cameron during the tumultuous riots in the United Kingdom in 2011. Robert has also been profiled in two books which celebrate leadership: 10 Who Mentor and Men Who Dare.

Ethan Zohn Co-Founder, Grassroots Soccer Ethan Zohn is a former American professional soccer player, and a reality television series contestant who in 2002, won $1,000,000 on Survivor: Africa. Shortly after, Ethan battled cancer in two very public bouts with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Through it all, Ethan helped grow Grassroots Soccer, a non-profit he co-founded that uses the power of soccer to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa. In 2011, Zohn and fellow Survivor winner Jenna Morasca participated in the 19th season of The Amazing Race. Ethan tours the world speaking on character-building, resiliency and leadership. He resides in New York City and invents new products like the EZ Crunchbowl. Yes, his hair is real. @ShootingTouch

Co-Founder, Shooting Touch Lindsey Kittredge is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Shooting Touch, Inc. and responsible for overseeing all domestic and international operations of the organization. Under Lindsey’s direction, Shooting Touch, has grown from inception as a local Boston basketball program to an international NGO with work on three continents, 7 countries and positively impacted over 2,000 youths globally each year. Lindsey began her career in Sydney, Australia working for Professional Public Relations (PPR). Lindsey spent the next eight years in Boston as an Account Executive for McDermott Ventures, Inc., a full service consulting firm and The Collaborative Companies and Accelerated Marketing Partners, both residential real estate marketing firms. Lindsey is a member of many sport for development organizations in Boston, been featured in The Boston Globe and numerous national news magazines, as well as named by Inkandescent PR as “One of the Top 100 Women Changing the World”. Lindsey is married to Justin Kittredge and has two young daughters.


Panel Six: Footwear & Apparel 10:45am–11:45am Moderator: George Kiel Editor-in-chief, NiceKicks George Kiel III is the Editor-In-Chief of NiceKicks.com, one of the most comprehensive sneaker-themed outlets on the Internet. A graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, Kiel received a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Print Journalism. Through his seven-year career at NiceKicks.com, Kiel has developed into a household name in the basketball and sneaker world alike. His interaction and work with various NBA teams, players and many celebrities has warranted him being quoted in the New York Times, appearances on ESPN, BET, the San Antonio Spurs official live webcast and local news stations. Kiel founded the Kiel Colon Cancer Foundation - a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that desires to address colon cancer on multiple fronts through education, public outreach, research and various other initiatives - as a promise to honor his mother’s name forever and extend her legacy. He also founded the Kick & Roll Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Event, which is the KCCF’s main fundraising affair.

Randy Kinzly Executive, Nike Sales Randy has been an account executive at Nike for 30 years and has been involved with Seacoast United Soccer Club since his daughters Anna and Maddie played on a variety of soccer and lacrosse teams throughout middle and high school. Randy has coached both basketball and soccer for 20 years, and truly appreciates what SUSC does for student athletes throughout the seacoast region. He and his wife Liz have been married for 29 years and live in York, Maine.

Joe Keane COO, ‘47 Brand After a career rising the ranks in the corporate finance world as CFO and COO at Reebok, International, CFO for Cumberland Farms/Gulf OilJo and a number of other major posts, Joe is currently the COO of ’47 Brand, a wholesaler of sports licensed products. ’47 Brand holds licenses for the NFL, MLB, the NBA, the NHL and over 600 colleges and universities. As the company’s COO, Joe is responsible for various functions of the company, including IT, HR, distribution, trademarks, legal and apparel sourcing. In addition, Joe spends a great deal of time on corporate planning and business development.

Jay Gordon CEO, Bodega As Owner of Bodega, one of the most prestigious sneaker boutiques in the country, Jay Gordon redefines the essence of “selling cool.” Located in a hidden storefront in the heart of Boston, Bodega is purposefully nondescript, yet his lines of footwear are the most sought after product by die-hard sneaker freaks, luring brands such as Nike, Adidas, Jordan and the like. Gordon is a serial businessman having served as Owner of Gordon Polymers, a plastics recycling and reclaiming for manufacturing corporation and Vice President of Operations for Amcel Corporation, a factory focusing on primary injection molding and film extrusion. Jay always seeks to partner with up and coming entrepreneurs, always striving to keep redefining the footwear industry for years to come.

Lindsey Kittredge, Co-Founder, Shooting Touch Lindsey Kittredge is the Executive Director of Shooting Touch, Inc. and responsible for overseeing all domestic and international operations of the organization. Under Lindsey’s direction, Shooting Touch, Inc. has grown from inception as a local Boston basketball program to an international NGO with work on three continents, 7 countries and positively impacted over 3,500 youths globally each year.

Justin Kittredge, Co-Founder, Shooting Touch, ISlide Justin Kittredge is the Co-Founder of Shooting Touch, Inc. and chimes in on the operations and development of the organization when he is not busy (which is never) running his new footwear startup, ISlide, Inc. Justin’s incredible vision for Shooting Touch has been the founding and driving force behind its fast moving growth here in Boston and overseas. Justin’s energy and passion for Shooting Touch is incredible.

Lindsey began her career in Sydney, Australia working for Professional Public Relations (PPR), one of Australia’s largest privately owned public relations firms specializing in consumer marketing. After her move back to the States, Lindsey spent the next four years in Boston as an Account Executive for McDermott Ventures, Inc., a full service consulting firm focusing on brand marketing, public relations and corporate communications. The next four years, Lindsey worked for The Collaborative Companies and Accelerated Marketing Partners, both residential real estate marketing firms specializing in the development and implementation of comprehensive sales and marketing programs.

Justin spent the past 15 years working in the athletic footwear industry, most recently as the Director of the Basketball Product Division at Reebok. Justin and his team worked to create, market and sell NBA basketball shoes throughout the United States and abroad. In January, 2013 Justin left Reebok to start ISlide, Inc. which manufactures, markets and sells premium custom athletic sandals. The company having launched in August of 2013 is already garnering the attention and support of big and small box retailers around the country.

Lindsey played Division I lacrosse at the University of Vermont where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development and Nutrition. Lindsey has run the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon and a number of half marathons over the years. Lindsey is a happy wife and mother of two wonderful little girls.

Justin was the Guinness World Records™holder for the most completed basketball free throws in two minutes in 2010. He also holds the record for most completed blind folded free throws in two minutes and is in the process currently of getting a new record approved. Justin is a graduate from Northfield Mt. Hermon School and James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and lucky husband and father of two wonderful little girls.
