Psycho-Zine is a space for independent divulgation formulated for the graphic, communicative and literary exercise, open to bands, entrepreneurs and people who have contributed to the construction of the psychobilly scene in Colombia. The fanzine has periodic deliveries divided into volumes, in which topics of interest around psychobilly and related genres are developed, being exposed in digital media. The objective is established, the inclusion of new audiences to the genre, through content of interest and that can guide the reader to know the movement. The transversal axis of the project is the preservation of the historical memory of the genre in Colombia, to understand its development, relevant events and its inclusion within the musical ecosystem at the national level. To this end, it seeks to highlight the importance of the bands of the first wave (including groups that are currently inactive), relevant figures, development and evolution of the scene, festivals held and the impact of Colombian psychobilly in the international context. Psychobilly is a musical genre that mixes elements of punk rock and rockabilly from the late 1970s and early 1980s; in addition to other genres such as Country and Surf. It is characterized by having apolitical content and focused on science fiction, horror, horror movies and other topics considered taboo, in a comic tone. Psychobilly is often based on three essential instruments: the double bass (it takes the place of the electric bass, more common in modern rock), the electric guitar and the drums. Psychobilly gained some popularity in Europe from the 1980s and in the United States this did not happen until the late 1990s.

In Colombia, the genre appeared in the early 2000s, thus consolidating audiences and bands. The first generation of psychobilly groups took place in Bogotá between 2006 and 2007 with Helldogs, Salidos de la Cripta and Rockin Vampiros among others (For more information, do not miss our next broadcasts). It would quickly spread to other areas of the country such as Medellín and Valle del Cauca.

Currently, it continues to be a growing subculture in Colombia, presenting new proposals with unique sounds and alternative spaces for dissemination. In addition to festivals such as Hot Rock Fest and Zombie Fest, which have allowed the scene to grow and position the country as an attraction for bands from abroad, new venues such as the Horror Klub Festival have appeared.
