Rules & Regulations • All riders and exhibitors must wear USEF approved (ASTM/SEI) headgear at all times while mounted. Jeans are not allowed. • Management reserves the right to change, alter, combine, cancel, or add classes, dates, and personnel. • USEF rules and judging requirements will be followed at all times during the show. •Any situation that arises that is not covered by the current rules in the USEF Rule Book, will be presented to the Show Committee whose decision will be final. • Palermo Show Stable, LLC, and its owners, managers, employees, staff, volunteers will NOT be held responsible for any accident, illness, injury (including death), loss, or damage occurring at the show. • All entry forms are to be completely filled out, signed, and presented (fax, mail, email, or in person) to the secretary along with full payment before numbers will be assigned. No one will be allowed to show without a number. • Hunter Schooling: permitted only in designated areas provided by the committee and scheduled in the ring as time permits limited strictly to ten minutes. Schooling will be allowed in the show rings up to 7:45am. Those who do not leave the ring when called will forfeit all entry fees. • Parking will be allowed in designated areas only exhibitors, trainers, and spectators agree to follow the parking official’s instructions. • Tying horses to fences and/or use of paddocks is not permitted. • All pets must be leashed while on the show grounds-NO exceptions. • All fences will be Hunter type for Hunter classes, Jumper type for Jumper classes, and Hunter and/or Jumper type for Equitation classes. • All entries and horses on grounds must pay $15 Office/EMT fee. • Entries close the Friday before the show at 5:00 pm for Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation. Post entries will be accepted at a fee of $15. No Scratch fee. • $50 fee for all non-negotiable checks. Forfeit showing privilege until all fees have been paid. • All prize money won will be mailed out 3 weeks following the horse show. • All horses at show must have a negative EIA test within one year. • Limited stabling available $50 per stall must be reserved in advance. Stabling Checks must be received in advance for stall to be held. Bedding not included. • Show Office opens one hour before first class. • A jump order will be established at the gate with the starter before the class starts. Conflicts and multiple riders must be declared in advance with the starter. Failure to enter the ring within 2 minutes of being called will result in elimination. • All ties for other than first place shall be broken on time in the first round. • Sharps container will be available at the secretary’s stand. • All horse and rider combinations entering in M&S point classes must be entered in at least one other class at the same show. • Declarations for prize money classes due at 1pm on day of show. • Award and eight ribbons in each class. Champion and Reserve in each division with three or more classes. In jumper divisions where two classes are offered, the second class in each division offers double points for show champion. • USEF rules apply to all other divisions. • Each trainer/exhibitor is responsible for knowing and following all USEF, NJPHA, NJHSA, M&S League, and Palermo True Schooling Shows Series rules. • As an agreement as entry into the show the following is effective for all: WARNING: UNDER NEW JERSEY LAW, AN EQUESTRIAN AREA OPERATOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ANIMAL ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ANIMAL ACTIVITIES, PURSUANT TO P.L., 1997, c. 287 (C.5:15-1 et seq).
Divisions & Classes All Classes $20 Unless Otherwise Noted. Leadline - Open to riders 10 years of age and under. No cross entries. May be asked simple horsemanship questions, jumping position, and posting at the walk. 1. Leadline - Walk Only 2. Leadline - Walk/Trot 3. Advanced Leadline - optional off lead Pre Beginner Walk/Trot Division - Open to all riders just out of Lead Line Division. Open to all ages. No Cross Entry into any other division at this horse show. 4 . Walk 5. Walk/Trot (Trot will be down ONE side of the ring only to the left) 6. Walk/Trot (Trot will be down ONE side of the ring only to the right) Academy/Camp Division - Open to riders of any age who ride in a riding school on lesson horses. Horses may use martingales for all classes. Horses may be repeated for students. Riders need not use show attire; however, they must use an approved helmet, boots with a heel. Cross entry only to the Pleasure Walk Trot Division and Maiden Rider. If entries warrant, classes will be divided by age of rider. 7. Academy Walk/Trot Equitation on the Flat 8. Once a rider competes in any class or division other than Mini Stirrup or Walk-Trot Equitation or Hunter, they are no longer eligible for the Mini Stirrup Hunter. Section B: Horse or pony not to have shown in a division where the fence height specification is 2' or higher. Riders in Sec A may not cross enter into any other division except Beginner Equitation, Maiden, Novice, Limit, & Pleasure. Trotting anywhere on course not to be penalized. 23.
