Patty Davis, in the A Rated Medium Pony Division despite the pressure of her premier appearance in an Upperville ring. The pair had been slated to ride on Local Day but the smokey haze caused a cancelation. So Olivia stepped up to compete against the best of the best, made respectable trips in every class, and clearly enjoyed the experience.

Mindful, owned by Kensel LLC and ridden by Jennifer Hannan, topped the rankings in the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby at the Upperville Colt & Horse show, Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Horses, Hounds, and Foxes

Members of the Museum of Hounds & Hunting NA came from across the US and Canada to catch up with old friends and make new ones at the Annual Reception, held on Saturday of Memorial Weekend, the evening before the Virginia Foxhound Show. Beverages and hors d’oeuvres were enjoyed in front of the Morven Park Mansion in Leesburg, Virginia, overlooking the spacious grounds. Members and their guests strolled through the art exhibition on display inside, where the theme is “Horses, Hounds, and Foxes” featured in 15 paintings and 12 bronze sculptures by well-known artists
