Show theme: IT’S A PARTY

WELCOME TO CANWEST 2013 This year marks a very special milestone as the BC Landscape & Nursery Association is celebrating 60 years. It was in May of 1953, when the foundation of today’s association was laid and BC’s ornamental horticulture trade took its first steps in working cooperatively for the betterment of the industry. CanWest was already in the making in the early years of the association as the annual convention featured an exhibit component. However, it was in 1981 that the inaugural “Western Canada Horticultural Trade Show” took place in July at the Pacific National Exhibition Food Building. CanWest, now in its 32nd year, continues to be a strong regional show providing suppliers from throughout BC and North America to showcase their products and services to landscapers, garden centres and wholesale nursery growers from the Pacific Northwest. And just as the association began connecting horticulturists 60 years ago, CanWest continues to do the same; facilitating “face to face” trade between buyers and sellers. This show guide provides you with all the show highlights and features. Be sure to take in all that CanWest has to offer… including the Tailgate Party on opening day and a chance to win $1,000 cash! On behalf of the CanWest team and the BCLNA Board of Directors, we warmly welcome you to Vancouver and Western Canada’s premier horticulture trade show! It’s going to be a party!

Helping the ornamental nursery industry

Enhance Competitiveness and Sustainability Since 1997, we’ve pledged more than $2 million toward projects with British Columbia’s ornamental nursery and turfgrass sectors. We’re proud to have assisted producers in carrying out projects ranging from strategies for dealing with diseases and pests and methods to control invasive species, to marketing strategies and research into new market opportunities, such as green roof plants. You can continue to count on our support to find innovative solutions that address the issues and opportunities your agricultural sector is facing.
