At HO Skis we do things differently. While others sacrifice quality by manufacturing overseas, we stand strong without compromise and make all of our slalom skis in Seattle, Washington USA. Top to bottom, the entire HO Skis slalom line is conceptualized, designed, engineered, tested, and manufactured in the United States of America. With the world’s top aerospace manufacturers in our backyard, we have access to the world’s finest materials, like aerospace carbon fiber, that we’re able to use in our waterskis. For example in our Superlite Collection we have taken the aircraft manufacturing principles of lightweight, responsiveness and reliability, and combined them with our hydro-dynamic ski shapes, giving skiers looking for the extra boost in their carve, something to bring them as far as they want to go. Keeping our entire process domestic and in-house also gives us the ability to closely control quality and continuously improve processes as the skis are built, thereby assuring that you get the best and most reliable products possible. This means better waterskis, better performance and peace of mind knowing that you’re riding the best skis in the world.

The Test Team: Top Pro Skiers Make Top Pro Testers.

The HO Design Team is led by Brand Manager Dave Wingerter and consists of designers and engineers who, from a lifetime of experience in the sport, have developed an intense passion for waterski design. Combined with their academic backgrounds in aerospace technology, rocket propulsion technology, and hydro-dynamic hull design, the HO Design Team is able to make skis that are lighter, faster, more responsive and more consistent than ever thought possible. As skiers ourselves, we take pride in applying cutting edge technology from outside the industry to the sport and lifestyle we hold so dear. Our waterskis are designed with great precision in a workshop setting, then perfected down to the millimeter with our state-of-the-art computer systems. From tip to tail every feature on our skis is tested and tweaked countless times to get the ski riding exactly how we want it, and how you need it.

Bringing together the world’s most experienced waterski shapers and Hall-ofFame waterski legends Bob and Kris LaPoint with our expert design engineers has yielded an evolution of thought in the waterski industry. COURSE, CROSS OR FREE?

WE’VE FOUND THAT THERE ARE 3 BASIC TYPES OF SLALOM SKIERS BASED ON THEIR ENVIRONMENT AND PREFERENCE. For example; if you enjoy slaloming the course, turning buoys, and going for gold at tournaments you’ll need a different ski setup than someone who enjoys cruising the big lakes and rivers and ripping turns in the open water. “But I like to do all of those things!” you say? Well, we make skis specific to cross-over types as well. No matter where, when, or how you ski, we make a line specifically tailored for you!

COURSE SKIER A Course Skier skis primarily in the slalom course and in the tournament arena. Their ski feature needs include tight angle turns and responsive agility to handle maximum speed and load.

CROSS SKIER A Cross Skier skis part time in courses and part time in the open water. This skier aspires to move up to the course arena or often skis at settings where no course is available. Their ski feature needs include efficiency and versatility.

COURSE COLLECTION PERFORMANCE ACHIEVED VIA AUTOMATIC ANGLE DESIGN The secret to unlocking the slalom course puzzle is creating and maintaining ski angle. Ask any of the great champions of our sport, from Bob and Kris LaPoint, to Wade Cox to Will Asher and they will tell you the name of the slalom course game is angle. You create and maintain angle and a lot of other things fall into place. The LaPoints created angle with an unmatched power the water ski world has not seen since. Cox blew our minds with his all-out attack of ski angle via lower body compression and drive. Asher has perfected the technical science of angle creation and helped the Syndicate design team develop our game-changing combination of ski features known as Automatic Angle design. Automatic Angle design is a combination of a balanced ski width profile and increased bevel angle which allows the ski to automatically seek and maintain ski angle without the traditional aggressive skier lean. The angle of the bevel is actually steeper than a traditional ski which allows the ski to roll onto a high edge angle resulting in a quicker change of direction and increased angle in the slalom course. By achieving ski angle without aggressive skier lean, skiers reap the benefits of being wide and early for the next buoy without the consequences imposed by modern speed control systems due to heavy rope load. THE SYNDICATE PROGRAM The Syndicate is the word’s premiere elite-level waterski program and ski team. From tournaments won to skis sold, The Syndicate is the undisputed leader. Our constant drive to look beyond industry standards fuels our passion for innovation, resulting in better and more exciting products for you year after year. As soon as we release a model we are instantly back in the laboratory furthering our designs, evolving our ideas, and testing concepts for the next development. For example while the Syndicate A2 was winning multiple major pro titles and countless amateur titles, we were already hard at work designing the Syndicate A3.

Will Asher: Evolving from Top Pro to Legend

Syndicate front-man Will Asher is one of the most prolific skiers ever to shred the water. He has always been a clutch performer mentally but now, with the confidence he has on his proven pro model Syndicate A3, he is unstoppable,sitting firmly atop the world as #1. His success, however, is not purely based on talent and timing. Will’s involvement in developing and testing Syndicate products cannot be overstated; he is constantly tinkering, learning, and experimenting to help us develop the next greatest thing in skis, gloves, vests, boots and more. Bob LaPoint, who has spent decades shaping waterskis and the waterski industry, describes Will as "the best ski tester of this generation", citing his ability to not only take the ski to the max, but to feel and analyze the features after each pass.

Exponential Growth of The Syndicate

As the Syndicate program grows and blossoms, the team continues to develop and push the boundaries of possibility. Jon Travers became the seventh skier ever to run 41’ off in a tournament, Nick Adams broke the longstanding Australian slalom record and took the Australian Masters title, Greg Badal set a new Big Dawg record, April Coble-Eller was honored as Waterski Ambassador of the Year, and many others have ascended to the top of the professional and amateur scenes by taking advantage of the power of The Syndicate.

He was recently named Waterski Magazine’s 2013 Slalom Skier of the Year, retains the #1 in the world status on the elite skier rankings list, was the victor at the US Masters, Palembang World Cup, Diablo Shores Pro-Am, Australian Open, and European Championships, earned silver at the Malibu Open and Atlanta Pro-Am, and bronze at Soaked. Asher also broke the European and British records by tying the world record score of 2 buoys at 43’ off twice.

The all-new 2014 Cross-Over Collection marries the world record capable design of the Syndicate A3 with the ultra-efficient Clean Edge technology of the revolutionary Freeride ski, to create the perfect cross of performance and efficiency. The HO Syndicate design team began with record breaking A3 design, increased the surface area of the ski by one ski size from the tip of the ski to the just behind the heel of the rear foot. Behind the rear foot the skis transition from traditional to futuristic as the sidewalls rotate inward like a wakeboard edge and ski bevels disappear in the tail section of the ski. The combination of these two feature allows the water to cleanly release directly off the bottom of the ski, as opposed to the traditional ski design in which water wraps around the bevel of the ski, up the sidewall and releases of the upper edge of the ski, thereby reducing the drag associated with this portion of the ski by 50%. This revolutionary ski technology allows skiers to ski behind any boat, at any speed, in any water condition. The beveled edge of a traditional water ski allows water to wrap around the bottom of the ski and up the sidewall where it finally releases off the skiâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s top edge. Clean Edge Technology is bevel-less and the sidewalls are rotated inward like a wakeboard edge. The combination of these two design features causes water to release cleanly off the bottom surface of the Freeride resulting in a 50% less drag than conventional skis. I know what you're thinking, because its exactly what I'm thinking; “Why aren't more people water skiing?” The fact of the matter is, there has never been the right tool for the adventure…until now. In recent years, water skiing has been an ever exclusive sport. It has been a competition based hobby that sometimes feels more like homework than fun. More people seem to leave the sport than join and everyone who still skis is getting older…until now. Sure, it doesn’t get much better than tugging around behind the best competition ski boat, but for many, that is more of an aspiration than a realization. Most people feel that you shouldn't need your own private ski lake and a $1000 ski just to go rip turns and revolutionize your outlook on life. And here at HO, we agree with you.

The Lake Ski: A Gateway to the Past

Back when water was free and gas was cheap, skiing on water wasn't necessarily about how good you were, it was about discovery. Skiing brought with it adventure, adrenaline and freedom. HO SPHERE TECHNOLOGY PROBLEM:

As towables get larger, the surface area contacting the water increases. Increased contact creates more drag. Increased drag requires more energy to whip the tube behind the boat and causes a slower, less exciting ride. In general, most larger tubes a) are less lively, b) are harder to whip, c) require more energy to tow, and d) cause more strain on the boat.

SOLUTION: HO SPHERE TECHNOLOGY™

Given the problem above, designing large tubes has typically meant creating a larger version of a smaller existing tube. Patented HO Sphere Technology™, however, opens up doors to a whole new way of thinking. The problem of drag is solved by reducing the surface area contacting the water. This design process is evident in the HO Molecule, Molecule 2D and Molecule 3S tubes. These Sphere Technology™ tubes have large spheres arrayed at the corners of the main deck. The spheres suspend the deck of the tube off of the surface of the water, leaving the bottom of the spheres as the main point of contact with the water.
