The Impact of Health Care Reform in the Bronx What it means for you and your organization DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN EARLY 2011 Savoy Building, Multi-Purpose Room, 120 East Walton Avenue, Bronx, NY 10451 The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is fast approaching as a timeline is being drawn and new laws are written each day. How will this all affect the Bronx? The health care field? Small business? Non-profit, community, and faith-based organizations? Individuals? At this conference, we will hear about changes straight from the source: the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the New York State Department of Health/Insurance Department. A respondent panel made up of Bronx community and organizational leaders representing a cross-section of sectors and vulnerable groups will raise issues, questions, concerns, and engage in a dialogue to help participants better understand the ACA impact on the Bronx. A follow-up series taking a closer look at the impact of health care on vulnerable community groups such as youth, elderly, immigrants, and disabled will take place over the course of the year.
