2025 is an extra special year for Hotchpotch, as we celebrate 30 years! It all began in 1995, from the kitchen table of Lauren White. Lauren loved creating tiny scenes in fine pen and adding colour with pencils. All her cards were limited editions, she signed each one and used beautiful, high quality papers for her designs. It wasn’t long before Lauren’s designs caught the eye of Paul Steele, a businessman, entrepreneur and talent spotter based in South West London. Hotchpotch became Paul’s next venture, and he committed to building upon Lauren’s portfolio of designs, working with a number of talented young artists, often straight from art school, to grow and expand the business into a major publishing force, with many successful card ranges - notably ‘Pearlies’ (designed by talented Dublin-based artist Joanna Kidney) which scored a prestigious Henries award in 2001.
In 2011 Hotchpotch became part of the Carte Blanche Group, one of the industry’s largest independently owned and long-standing publishers, which coincidently is also celebrating 30 years in business. Although best known for Me to You, its iconic cute brand, through strategic acquisitions and home-grown talent, Carte Blanche already offered must-have traditional & humour and with Hotchpotch added contemporary trend to its award-winning portfolio.
In this digital world, the current design team (Anna, Emily and Rachel) love nothing more than turning away from their screens and getting their brushes and paints out to create unique artworks, just as Lauren did 30 years ago, with natural lines drawn by hand and with passion. We are in love with the creative process, trying out new media, experimenting with finishes and pushing the boundaries of print - driven by authenticity - to ourselves and the Hotchpotch brand and always looking ahead to new and exciting trends, big ideas and the next best selling design.
We are passionate about bringing beautiful, quality products to life in a meaningful way. As Hotchpotch continues to expand, supplying hundreds of retailers, big and small, and with the addition of an award-winning licensing programme - covering gifting, homeware and stationery - Hotchpotch designs are sold far and wide across the globe.
We have some fabulous newness within our Everyday collections for 2025 and have detailed them all here, which we hope you enjoy browsing as much as we have enjoyed creating! Pistachio is a die-cut 3-fold collection with playful and fun painted illustrations, our new Cobalt range is boyishly strong and then there’s Quick Wit, new designs which celebrate the British sense of humour. We’ve extended well-loved collections Pocket Square, Anise and Sardinia too for milestone birthdays and relations. With 70 brand new designs to start off the year we know 2025 is going to be a great one!

In a bid to reduce the amount of plastic we use in our products, we’re phasing out our existing stock of cello-wrapped greeting cards. Our new 2025 greeting card collections are glitter-free and unwrapped as standard - so cards can be treasured forever or recycled.

CONTEMPORARY COLLECTIONS
At Hotchpotch we are continuously looking for exciting new ways to spread joy with a folded piece of card. In 2017 we launched our Flair collection which included a cute pin-badge on the front of each card and went on to win best contemporary trend collection at The Henries awards later that year. We continue developing innovation and paper engineering, whether it’s designing a keepsake, creating 3D/pop-up cards, or to-die-for die-cuts! For the last 10 years we have also been experimenting with neon inks, pushing the boundaries of those volatile inks on the press, and creating some eye-popping designs. Our latest innovation collection Lucky Dip, a long time in the making, encompasses everything we have learned so far, developing a keepsake bracelet to convey positivity and happiness, combined with neon inks, in a modern way. Watch this space for all things innovation!
Introducing Pistachio our new 3-fold die-cut collection, pull them out into a concertina or equally fold and stand! These cards are versatile and cover female, male and juvenile sends. Our signature styles never go out of fashion - they’re made to last. We spend a lot of time getting these right, and although it’s not about re-inventing the wheel, the attention to detail is a key element in these collections. OUR INSPIRATION
“Where do you find your inspiration?” is a question we are asked all the time. And truthfully it can come from anywhere, but we love nothing more than heading into London in search of our next colour palette or something that sparks an idea for our next collection. Wandering along Savile Row and the streets around Mayfair we just loved all the gold and copper lettering styles seen in tailor’s windows and the patterned fabrics used on waistcoats, shirts, ties and pocket squares – this was the starting point for our ideas. We are also very process driven and love to experiment with print and foiling techniques to create a point of difference to the rest of the market.
