SPORT FISHING In Ecuador there are many paradisiacal sites to practice sport fishing. Nevertheless, as with all sports, it is also necessary to dominate one or several techniques to be successful, as well as equipment specially designed for the task. The objective of the sport fisherman is to obtain the best specimen with the greatest dimensions and weight in order to win the contest, but also to have fun and be in contact with nature. The beaches at the south of Ecuador are known for its crystal clear waters, where diving is a sport that can be practiced in many different areas such as “El Peñon del Pelado”, “El Viejo”, “El Peñon de El Salado” and Isla de la Plata. In this sport you may be able to observe a large variety of marine fauna, as well as octopus, sword fish, dorado, butterfly fish, among others. Here you will be able to experience a one immersion dive for beginners who do the Mini Diving scuba dive or two for those when already have the experience and certified to perform the Diving. Dive sites & places to practice snorkelling: Isla Sucre, Horno de Pan, Salango and Islet de la Viuda (Islets of the Widow), among others. .

VISIT “DOS MANGAS” WATERFALLS

The name Dos Mangas comes from the times in which the people of the community called the rivers, Mangas, and near the town, there was a joint of two river streams, Grande and Coin. VISIT TO “LA ISLA DE LA PLATA”

Also known as the “Miniature Galapagos”, is one of the most important places of the Machalilla National Park. From prehistoric times it was used as a place for worshiping the Sun and the exchange of the famous Spondylus seashell. It also served as are refugee place for pirates and corsairs, and it is said that under its waters tons of silver treasures were submerged, thus its names. Currently the most important is to be a nesting site for sea birds such as blue-footed boobies, masked and red footed boobies, frigates, tropic birds and albatrosses. SALINITAS CITY TOUR

The Sumpa Lover´s Museum is located in Santa Elena city, this archeological place is known as “Las Vegas”, here you will know a ceremonial place, a traditional food table for the dead, burials, and also a traditional shop where you can know the process of elaboration of hand-woven articles. The name of the museum comes from one of the burials, found in this place, where you can observe the skeletons of a man and woman lying on the floor with their arms around each other. Here you can observe one traditional farm house from the beginning of the 20th century. We will continue towards the Megaterio, boardwalk of La Libertad and Salinas up to La Chocolate, well known for being the most outstanding of South America to the Pacific Ocean. Here we see a unique show, full of color, because the union of two ocean currents that produce a shock wave against the rocks and the water is pierced by the intense sunlight, creating multiple rainbows and giving it a chocolate hue sea

Discover the paths that hold the cocoa farms, visiting one of the best known agritoursim farms in this area, the Hacienda El Castillo, has an area of 160 hectares of cocoa farms where entered for different paths of no more than 100 meters, visitors can learn the history, processes and harvest one of the most important crops having Ecuador, taste the delicious juice of cocoa, the typical plantains, chocolate crafts and a delicious dessert made with chocolate factory farm.

MONTAÑITA & HANDICRAFTS

Along the Spondylus route we will visit the Valdivia Aquarium. This attraction is located in the commune (comuna) which bears its name in the Province of Santa Elena and is one of the most important locations of the pre-Hispanic era, cradle of the oldest human settlement in Ecuador. The Aquarium illustrates for the visitor the marine life in the warm waters of the Southern Pacific: lobsters, crayfish, shrimps, crabs, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, starfish and also species of commercial interest. During the tour we will visit the typical handicrafts shops in the settlement of El Atravesado-San José, located on the route, until we reach Montañita, a town well-known for its warmth, diversity and entertainment.
