Jaipur-The Pink City has been the capital of erstwhile Jaipur state since its inception in 1727 AD. It gets the name from its founder Prince Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. He was not only a great ruler, but also a renowned mathematician and astrologer. In 1876 AD Jaipur dressed itself in pink to welcome Prince Albert,Consort of Queen Victoria and earned the epitaph 'PINK CITY'. It is also a ho me of excellent handicrafts and is especially known for the exquisite gold Jewelley enameled or inlaid with precious stone ,blue pottery,carving on wood,stone & ivory, block print, tie & dye textiles, hand made paper, miniature painting etc.. PALACE OF INTEREST JAIPUR: AMBER- The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful palaces, Its is a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. The original palace was built by Raja Man Singh, the additional extensions were made by Mirja Raja Jai Singh and Swai Jai Singh. the last Maharaja of Ajmer, who built a new cith called Jaipur, where he shifted his capital in 1727. The palace complex is lavishly ornamented and displays the riches of Amer. Sheesh Mahal is a Chamber of Mirrors


Diwan-E-Am or the Hall of Public Audience, Diwan-E-Khas or the Hall of Private Audience are its major section lattice windows. exquisitely painted doorways, halls and finely sculptured pillars crave of attention.fine carved royal cenotaphs the road of Delhi. 2.

CITY PALACE AND SMS MUSEAM :Situated in the heart of the old city, is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. it houses a seven storied Chandra Mahal in the Centre, which affords a fine view of the gardens and the city.

3. JANTAR MANTAR : Now a world heritage monument. Built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai singh. the huge masonry instruments were to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky. 4. HAWA MAHAL: Built in 1799, by Maharaja swai pratap singh, is the most recognizable monument of Jaipur. 365 window with over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture. 5.

JAIGRAH FORT : standing on a hill top, overlooks the palaces and city of Amer. The worlds bigget cannon on wheels the Jai Ban is positioned here, built during of Maharaja Swai Jaisingh. it has a twenty feet long barrel. 100 kg gun powder has to be pumped in the cannon for single shot.

NAHARGARH FORT: a hill about 600ft. above the city, the fort was built 1734. The walls of the fort along the ridge and within are architectural beauties like Hawa mandir.

BIRLA MANDIR: it is situated just below the Moti Doongri, Known for the intricate marble carvings in white marble,Popularly known as Laxmi Narayal Temple.
