WHAT A YEAR House of Coco have been a proud partner of Land Rover and have enjoyed showcasing the Range Rover Velar in our magazine, social media and videos throughout 2018. From Newquay to Yorkshire, we've partnered on some amazing experiences which have sparked joy and inspiration in our readers and followers. We would love to continue working with you as our official car sponsor in 2019 and we have some very exciting plans in the works that would align perfectly with Land Rovers Microadventures. But first up, let's look back on some of the best moments of our 2018 partnership...

VOLUME 14: CORNWALL There’s a certain poetic beauty in ruminating over our recent trip to Newquay. The right side of my brain interpreted the weekend as the gloriously natural yet extravagant glamping trip that it was, where at every turn—and twist in time—there was the unmistakable allure of an Insta- feed worthy shot. Then the left, more analytical side of my brain didn’t miss the possible contradiction of living off-grid whilst throwing ourselves around Cornwall in a Range Rover Vogue. And that’s where things get interesting. There were no contradictions at play, we were in the Range Rover Vogue PHEV (plug-in hybrid electrical vehicle). With every sustainable food move we made, and every eco-friendly aspect of our lodgings, we deepened the impact of our high-heeled carbon footprint by also driving the PHEV. It has to be said: going off grid in November didn’t sound ideal. Yet just like the vehicle we were cruising in, our accommodation for the weekend proved that you can combine ‘luxury’ with ‘eco’."

VOLUME 12: OXFORDSHIRE Arriving at the hotel, I stepped out of my Land Rover dressed in my most boujee dress and some killer heels, to be greeted by a group of men who were there for the same reason – always the only girl on the track. Cue comments on my driving, how I probably can’t hit top speed, or drive in my heels. Well, they were about to get the shock of their lives. I’ve always had passion for cars and having a Land Rover this year has really helped me test my abilities in the driving seat. On this, the day the day Range Rover Velar won World Car Design of The Year, I was about to take the latest Range Rover designs on an epic adventure, on and off road. The new Range Rover Sport is transformed by technology, with a plug-in hybrid electric powertrain delivering efficiency, capability and performance like never before. The latest Range Rover Sport is Jaguar Land Rover’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. With an impressive 640Nm of combined torque, the new powertrain mixes dynamic and sustainable performance with traditional Land Rover capability, comfort and refinement. Nick Collins, Vehicle Line Director for Jaguar Land Rover tells us that, “The new Range Rover Sport strikes a compelling balance between dynamic capability, passenger comfort and efficiency. The introduction of our advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain is a watershed moment in the history of our performance SUV.”

VOLUME 12: NEWQUAY

R E P O R T

The Discovery Sport gave us everything we needed in luxury for our little impromptu camping trip. Just knowing it was right there next to us gave me a sense of comfort, I mean, the acceleration at which we could drive away from the psychotic moor-dwelling serial killer that stalked us as we slept was the biggest bonus. Alas, we survived the night. Woke up, coconut oil cleansed, brushed teeth, avoided dog walkers, dressed sassy and headed off on the final 2-hour leg to Newquay. * It’s sick being able to drive such a long distance in the Discovery Sport - you can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for the speed limiter and the cruise control but also the fact that even sitting in it for 7 hours straight, it’s immensely comfortable. From the seats to the interior technology, the smooth ride and of course, how good you look driving it, the Discovery Sport is the perfect adventure car. But now, we can also be proud of driving a Jaguar Land Rover, because we know how much they really are doing for our huge, beautiful world. If surfing isn’t for you but you still crave an adrenaline rush, Land Rover have launched a Microadventures series to inspire you to take their beast on mini adventures."

VOLUME 10: COCO COUNTRYSIDE You can travel to the highest mountain and swim to the deepest sea but there is nothing quite as beautiful as the good old British countryside. Editor in Chief Laura Bartlett went on a recent road trip in the Range Rover Evoque Convertible to discover the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. Not only was the car a dream to drive but the two destinations she stayed are were equally as impressive. * We had the roof down on the Evoque convertible so it was like arriving to a postcard perfect location but with the added ben- efit of smell-o-vision because we could breathe in the crisp country air at the same time. I’m not sure if the fact that we had Spice Girls Two Become One blasting out, with the risqué lyrics that only make sense now that I’m an adult, was lowering the tone, but hey, we did it anyway."

VOLUME 12: CORSICA (JAGUAR) French by nationality but individual in culture, characteristics and gastronomy, Corsica is a mini content in itself, boasting astounding geographical diversity. This multiplicity or rugged hills, glittering bays, sawtooth mountain ranges, lush valleys, coastal villages and dense forestry made it the perfect destination for testing the endless capabilities of the Jaguar E-PACE. The Jaguar E-PACE is a five-seat compact SUV that packs the design and performance of a Jaguar sports car into a spacious, practical and connected all-wheel- drive vehicle. The exterior design is inspired by the F-TYPE sports car and is characterised by the distinctive Jaguar grille, muscular proportions, short overhangs and powerful haunches. Optional 21- inch alloy wheels give the E-PACE a bold and purposeful stance, instantly communicating dynamic agility. Jaguar sports car DNA is also evident in the fast sweep of the roofline and the distinctive side window graphic. The E-PACE is set to continue Jaguar’s success in the growing SUV market. Their first SUV, F-PACE has sold more globally in 2017 (76,350) than the total number of Jaguars sold in 2011 (50,678). And it’s no wonder – the sports car design with muscular proportions, powerful haunches, optional 21” alloys wheels and Matrix LED headlamps with sweeping indicators make this SUV one that owns the road.".

VOLUME 13: YORKSHIRE

R E P O R T

Here at House of Coco, two of our favourite things are food and cars. So when we got to combine the two, during a rally in Yorkshire, we were very happy bunnies. Our editor Laura Bartlett went on a Yorkshire road trip from Bowcliffe Hall to the Yorke Arms in the Range Rover Velar, where she was competing with a few men driving old classic cars. Who was the winner? The food! Bowcliffe Hall is situated just off the A1M, four miles south of Wetherby and close to both York and Leeds, so the ideal base for the first stage of our rally. Pulling up onto the drive way you will be instantly impressed by its well-manicured grounds and a real sense of tranquility. Literally the calm before the storm as we had lunch in their gardens before we were revving up the engines to hit the road. We were taking the scenic route to The Yorke Arms, a journey that will take you to the High Moors over Masham where you’ll be hard-stretched to find a better view for a rally. Think miles of road and views that are so atmospheric and perfect that you feel like you’re in the middle of a postcard. I was the first person to make it to the final destination and, as the only woman on the trip, it was great to prove to the men that women know a thing or two about cars as I handled the bends better than them and left them in my dust! Pulling up off the beaten track to The Yorke Arms in Nidderdale, a restaurant with rooms, you’re greeted by the stunning 18th-century coaching house, which screams romance and charm. Having undergone a refurbishment this year, this place is a real hidden gem offering the best Yorkshire hospitality around."
