Lucy’s back to show why it’s better together.
Who is Lucy? Lucy is the warm and welcoming face of House of Travel in our exciting new brand campaign. Some may remember her as “Miss Lucy,” who a decade or so ago took House of Travel (HOT) into the hearts and homes of New Zealand as she sang and danced her way across our TV sets.
Are the ads really based on true stories? Yes! The stories were shared with Creative Director (and brains behind the campaign) Roy Meares, when he met with store Owner Operators throughout the country. Meares explains: “Their stories really sparked with me. The HOT team’s delight in turning their customers wishes and plans into holidays that exceed expectations — it’s in their blood. It’s part of their culture to create things together.”
What myths does the campaign address? The advertisements combat the myth that asking HOT to help costs you more. They also highlight the depth of care and insider knowledge and insights a House of Travel consultant adds to every kind of holiday imaginable!
The travel business has changed dramatically in recent years with the explosion of DIY booking online. “It was time to remind everyone, including ourselves, just how good we are,” says Chris Paulsen, founder and executive chairman.
There is a growing trend to return to travel consultants — get rid of the stress of booking and “let downs” and benefit from personal attention and huge knowledge. ■
