Council Member Dwight Boykins is the Houston City Council District D councilman. He has proposed a plan to solve the fight over "PROPOSITION B" that could possibly save the jobs of the hundreds of city workers Mayor Sylvester Turner is threatening to layoff. Council Member Boykins proposes using a flat monthly garbage collection fee based on Houston's population of 2.3 million shown in comparison to cities listed in the charts below. His proposal, which follows weeks of extensive research, could generate over a hundred million dollars of new revenue annually for the city and bring Houston in line with almost every other major municipality in the state of Texas. “HERSTORY” JUDGE GERMAINE TANNER UNSEATED THE REPUBLICAN INCUMBENT JUDGE ALICIA FRANKLIN YORK BACK ON NOVEMBER 6, 2018 IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS — SHE WILL BE RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION IN THE MARCH 2022 PRIMARY ELECTION AUBREY R. TAYLOR REPORTS©

2022

In case you don’t know, Judge Germaine Tanner would have still defeated Republican Judge Alicia Franklin York in the race for Judge, 311th Family District Court – even without the 105,158 straight-ticket voting cushion she received from Democratic voters in Harris County, Texas back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in the midterm election. Here’s why: Germaine Tanner received 645,022 overall votes. When you subtract the 515,812 straightticket votes, you come up with 129,210 votes. Comparatively speaking, if you subtract the 410,654 straight-ticket votes, Judge Alicia Franklin York received from her overall vote total of 535,476 you come up with 124,822 votes. So, in essence, even if you hypothetically stripped away the straight-ticket votes received by Germaine Tanner back in 2018, she would have still unseated Judge Alicia Franklin York by approximately 4,388 votes back on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in the midterm election in my opinion. So, with that said, I strongly encourage you to keep a close eye on this rising “DEMOCRATIC STAR” between now an the March 2022 Democratic Primary.

THIS MOMENT IN TEXAS HISTORY...

“The moment I began helping incarcerated dads understand their legal rights regarding their children, was eye-opening. I saw the expressions on their faces. Here was information they should have known but didn’t have access to. It was rewarding, and I felt like I was giving back. From then on I knew family law would be the focus of my career.” — GERMAINE TANNER

“Women like Judge Germaine Tanner are “PROOF-POSITIVE” that dreams do indeed come true for those of us who are bold enough to believe in ourselves. So, I implore you to make it your business to go after the dream that’s been placed in your heart during this pivotal time in the history of our great nation. God bless!”

Meet Germaine

Seventeen years ago, Germaine J. Tanner began visiting inmates at jails in Harris County, Texas. The visits were on behalf of the Fatherhood Project through the Office of the Attorney General. She learned two things: Inmates who were fathers needed better legal advice so they could maintain relationships with their children. And she discovered she had a passion for helping families understand and navigate the legal system. That experience while still a law student set the course for Tanner’s successful career in family law. Now, as the Honorable Judge Germaine Tanner, she is working diligently to apply her passion, experience and skill in family law to faithfully serve every Harris County, Texas citizen who comes before her. Judge Germaine Tanner and her daughter.
