2016 DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY
“WE MUST BECOME MORE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS OF ELECTING OUR LEADERS.”
THE EARLY VOTING PERIOD BEGINS ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH AND ENDS ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2016
In the world of politics, there seems to be one real “kingmaker”. Cash. Cold, hard cash.
For many voters, the idea of well-funded candidate is appealing. The belief that the richest candidate will win simply because they can buy votes is not a good reason for anyone to cast their vote for a particular candidate. Sadly, that way of voting has not equated to a prosperous and vibrant Acres Home or in the immediate surrounding communities. For years, the elected representation has ignored the plight of District 139 while buildings crumble, jobs disappear and our children fail in poorly funded schools. This election offers a brand new opportunity for voters of Texas House District 139. The chance to elect one of their own who has overcome the struggles and challenges faced daily by all. A new day is dawning in District 139 and could bring about a positive future should the voters decide to elect Kimberly Willis for Texas House of Representatives – District 139. Willis, a product of Aldine school system, is the daughter of a former union president and a school principal. Willis knows what it is like to get through college and face the daunting task of paying off student loans. She
Paid for by the Kimberly Willis Campaign, Treasurer Michael Willis
knows what it is like to try and find a well-paying job in the area only to be met with jobs that offer only a minimal of pay and even worse benefits. Willis understands the need to work together as a community to provide services for the young and old because there simply aren’t
enough resources flowing in from the State. As she likes to say, “born and raised in Acres Home” has taught her the meaning of service. Whether it is through her ministry work or through social advocacy, Willis has spent her entire life in the service of the community. Upon graduating from college with not just one Masters but two, Willis chose to remain in Acres Home to continue her service in an effort to, “make sure everyone has the opportunities that I had.” That service eventually led to Willis working in the Texas legislature as a Policy Analyst for Texas Legislative Study Group. Her work played a vital part of many legislative battles including protecting key teacher’s rights to benefits, protecting and strengthening our public schools by helping to defeat the sending of tax dollars to private schools, and leading the effort to stop the crippling effects of a broken unjust criminal justice system Of all the candidates vying for Sylvester Turner’s open seat, Willis is the one that voters should elect. Not only is she the most qualified, she “embodies the spirit of Sylvester Turner's longtime advocacy”, as headlined in her endorsement by the Houston Chronicle. While other candidates may outspend her, her donor list reflects the support of the residents of the District. You won’t find special interest or lobbyist donations but you will find individual voters supporting her campaign. Upon speaking with each of the candidates, it is clear that Willis is the candidate who not only understands the needs of the district but has the ability to get things done. Other candidates simply could not discuss the issues let alone come up with solutions. Willis not only discusses but is able to offer practical and common sense solutions that could potentially be enacted by the Texas legislature. It is vital that we elect one of our own who has a history of “getting it done” and the only candidate that fits that requirement is Kimberly Willis.

For Harris County Constable - Precinct 3
Tuesday, March 1, 2016 - Mark your calendar for the 2016 Democratic and Republican Primaries. Tuesday, September 15, 2015
Dear Fellow Constituents,
My name is James Eric Reed and I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable position. Hence, I respectfully ask for your vote and your support in the 2016 primary election.
Equally important is the fact that I am the proud son of Late Mr. Elvin S. Reed and Patricia Reed. I am also younger brother to Donnie Reed and husband to Sandra C. Andrade-Reed. Together, Sandra and I have one child, Zane Reed. From a previous marriage I have 3 other children, Nikki, Erica and Prince and 4 grandchildren. Family is of utmost importance to me and that is why I want to continue serving our communities, our youth and your family.

the
I was born and raised in Barrett Station and it was there that I learned the value and importance of loyalty, trust and respect. Having lived in Harris County Precinct 3 since birth and having served as a Harris County Deputy since 1994, I have dedicated myself to the service of the people. At the age of 15 I served in the Barrett Station fire department as an EMS volunteer. Years later I served as captain of the fire department as well as a board member of the Crosby EMS team.
As a Harris County Deputy, I have had the privilege of working in many schools including middle schools and high schools. Having worked at these schools has allowed me insight into the problems affecting our streets and our youth. I believe that my non-judgmental and fair approach in dealing with people has helped me positively impact many lives. I also believe that I have helped guide and encourage many children onto a brighter and better future. Our children are our future and when I earn their trust and win their loyalty, I know I have done my job.
Furthermore, being a local resident, I am also well acquainted with the problems facing our communities. Therefore, as your Precinct 3 Constable, I will continue to dedicate myself and my department to the service of our communities and schools by identifying community needs, focusing on public safety, implementing crime prevention programs and allocating department resources to improving customer service. So, when elected, I will work diligently to restore a sense of trust, pride and efficiency back to Precinct 3 by being visible and accessible in our Precinct. Please vote ERIC REED and let me prove that together we can create a better quality of life for all.
Eric Reed ______ Sincerely Yours,
Eric Reed, Democratic Candidate
