“The music this season is very challenging, and every single musician will show their abilities at the highest possible level. It is only this way that you perform this music. “I’ve likened the chemistry I feel between me and the Houston Symphony to being in a relationship. With some orchestras, the chemistry isn’t quite there, but with the Houston Symphony it just always feels right. I’m so looking forward to sharing this season with the orchestra and the audiences in Houston.”

JONES HALL RENOVATIONS
Jones Hall is a beloved Houston landmark. One of the most distinctive edifices in the city, it has hosted generations of concert-goers. Over the past two summers, the Hall has been undergoing a series of extensive renovations that will continue through 2025.
While Jones Hall’s iconic exterior remains intact, its interior is being redesigned to significantly enhance the experience of our audiences. New aisles and dramatically improved acoustics are just the beginning.
By the time we open the 2023–24 Season, there will be new seats in the auditorium, a new orchestra shell, and a sizeable increase to the number of bathroom facilities on the Hall’s courtyard level. Future changes will further improve acoustics and reconfigure the lobby to create more spaces for patrons to enjoy Jones Hall, including expansion and enhancement of the green room. And we’ll make it easier to get to the restrooms, with a new, much wider staircase that goes directly from the Louisiana Street lobby to the courtyard men’s and women’s lounges.
ADA improvements to the auditorium and to the Texas Avenue entrance will make the Hall more accessible than it has ever been. Renovations to the spaces and systems backstage will better support our wonderful musicians, and state-of-the-art technical systems will make our concerts even more powerful for our audiences in the Hall and around the world.
Jones Hall will be better than ever when it celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026, a world-class venue for your great Houston Symphony and for all of our city to enjoy. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these improvements.

SUPPORT YOUR SYMPHONY!
Connect more closely to the music you love and experience your Symphony in new ways while making a true difference to our orchestra and our city. In a typical season, ticket sales provide one-third of our budget to produce high caliber performances you see on stage. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we rely on contributions to fund the difference.
Meet guest artists, attend private rehearsals and talks by experts, build a personal relationship with your favorite musician, and enjoy complimentary valet parking and lounge access at all your concerts— there are so many possibilities to explore when you become a Houston Symphony donor.
Your contribution means:
• Presenting world-class performances with star soloists and conductors
• Commissioning new works from well-known composers and rising local talent
• Helping area students and our community through programs like student concerts, community-based music education programs, and Community-Embedded Musicians, who provide a range of assistance, from teaching students to performing at dementia centers, libraries, and hospitals
And so much more!
Gifts of all sizes are needed and valued—and will unlock special benefits just for you.
Please consider adding a gift to your subscription order and explore new musical opportunities as a Houston Symphony donor.
