The Big Debate: Co몭ee vs Tea by Howard Davner | Jun 30, 2022 | Beverage Industry, Business, Howard Davner

Both co몭ee and tea are beverages with a long history, and both have their unique bene몭ts. Depending on your taste, you’ll 몭nd that either of these beverages can 몭ll you up, help you stay alert, and even help you lose weight. This article will discuss the di몭erences between co몭ee and tea, their bene몭ts, their risks, and which is healthier. Co몭ee acts as a central nervous system stimulant and bronchodilator, increasing blood 몭ow to the brain and lungs by dilating blood vessels. This action also increases your energy levels and alertness and reduces pain due to in몭ammation or damage to your nervous system. A cup of co몭ee contains about 100-120mg of ca몭eine which rivals a cup of co몭ee in energy-boosting e몭ects, although the ca몭eine content tends to be higher in tea than co몭ee. Tea may contain ca몭eine, but it is signi몭cantly less than that co몭ee. Tea is a diuretic, meaning it can help increase metabolism. It also stimulates the central nervous system, making it feel more alert. Tea also contains tannins and other substances to reduce joint pain and in몭ammation. A cup of tea may contain as little as 20mg of ca몭eine or 80mg in an 8oz cup of black tea. Tea also has other healthpromoting e몭ects, including anti-diabetic, anticoagulant (which can help prevent stroke),

and antiviral and anti-cancer properties.

Risks Most studies show that co몭ee and tea are relatively safe beverages to drink. However, the FDA has warned consumers not to consume more than 3-4 cups of co몭ee a day for people who are long-term users or have a medical condition (such as high blood pressure or heart disease). Additionally, excessive ca몭eine intake can cause anxiety and insomnia. To stay healthy, it’s best to consume co몭ee and tea in moderation. Limit consumption if you have high blood pressure, other medical conditions, or problems. Most studies show that drinking between 2-3 cups a day is safe.

Which is Healthier? The health bene몭ts of drinking black tea are signi몭cantly higher than drinking co몭ee A cup of black tea contains about 80 mg of ca몭eine, while a cup of co몭ee contains around 100mg. Surprisingly, teas are more bene몭cial to your health than co몭ee because this is mainly due to the antioxidants present in the leaves.
